Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval has declared a state of emergency as hundreds of firefighters battle a wind-whipped blaze in the Washoe Valley.

The Rolling Hills Fire that started around 7:30 a.m. on Friday near Mt. Rose Hwy north of Galena High School is 100% contained.

One of the homes destroyed by the Little Valley fire belonged to Bunny Ranch brothel owner Dennis Hof.

The Little Valley fire is holding at 3,400 acres and is 20 percent contained. There was significant rain overnight and although it reduced fire risk, the public will see smoke from within the burn area, and homes will be at risk until crews get a line around the fire. Addresses higher than 6190 Franktown Road are open, while access to addresses lower than 6190 Franktown Road remain closed. People who will be allowed to return to their property will be called directly by authorities. There is a flash flood risk so fire crews ask people to stay out of the area.

The driver of a truck that drove through protestors under the Reno arch was charged with a misdemeanor of provoking assault and released on $10,000 bail on Friday afternoon.

The Civil Air Patrol-California Wing is searching for a missing aircraft southwest of Lake Tahoe. They're working with the El Dorado County Sheriff's office but are not flying due to poor weather in the search area. The aircraft is returning to the Sacramento area from Idaho with a single pilot on-board and has been reported overdue. The last known position of the aircraft is in a rugged area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains southwest of Lake Tahoe.

The Little Valley fire is holding at 3,400 acres and is 20 percent contained. The tentative plans are to let people who had homes destroyed back in on Monday afternoon to survey their homes while people with homes still standing can go in Tuesday to survey the homes.
