The U.S. Census Bureau has released the latest numbers on income, poverty and health insurance.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County, says the concrete has been laid along the roadway on the Pyramid McCarran widening project so paving can begin.

Sparks Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire on the 1600 block of O'Malley Drive this morning at 4:26 a.m. The first unit on scene reported heavy smoke coming from the garage of a two story home. Fire crews made quick access through the home and extinguished the fire in the garage. The fire did not reach the living area of the home and only minor smoke damage occurred. There were no injuries reported.

Arrests dropped by half at this year’s Street Vibrations compared to last year’s according to the Reno Police Department. There were eight misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest this year compared to 18 arrests in 2015, four of which were felonies.The felony arrest this year was for a suspect being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon. The department’s Traffic Division also conducted a three-day traffic enforcement campaign focusing on vehicle and pedestrian safety within and around the event perimeter.

The California Highway Patrol is looking for three people who are wanted in connection to a shooting on Interstate 80 that left one person dead. Police say around 3:55PM Saturday afternoon three people on motorcycles surrounded another biker while on the highway near the ag-station near Truckee. The bikers opened fire hitting the victim multiple times. Police say he was treated on scene, and flown to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. CHP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call CHP Truckee at (530) 582-7570.

A woman suspected of driving under the influence was arrested following a crash that left one person dead, early Saturday morning in Pahrump. Deputies said that two vehicles had been involved in the collision. They said the passenger of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of that same vehicle was flown to a Las Vegas hospital. The investigation revealed that the driver of the other vehicle –Ashley Winn – was at fault in the crash after not stopping at a stop sign. Winn was charged with DUI resulting in death, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm and failing to stop at a stop sign.
