The Reno City Council has cancelled a special meeting scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) that was to discuss putting City Manager Andrew Clinger on leave and to appoint Assistant City Manager Bill Thomas as acting city manager. The actions were scheduled following allegations of sexual harassment against Clinger. The city has hired a Las Vegas law firm to manage an investigation into the allegations against Clinger. Clinger has agreed to extend his voluntary 15 day leave by two weeks through September 9th.

Another "habitual criminal" is drawing a 20 year sentence. Washoe County D.A.'s office says 32 year old Matthew Paul Williams latest conviction is for felony eluding January 29th, 2015. Prosecutor Carrie Morton argued that not a year would go by without the defendant committing new crimes, even while facing charges for other ones. She also presented evidence of Williams’ 13 felony convictions for crimes including burglary, possession of controlled substance, grand larceny, commercial burglary, forgery and theft. In the eluding case Williams led police on a chase at 90 plus miles per hour eventually crashing his vehicle and running away.

Human remains have been found in Churchill County. more than a month after Jeff Hendricks was reported missing there. Deputies found Hendricks vehicle Wednesday, and today found the remains of a man wearing shorts, t-shirt and sneakers, southwest of where the vehicle was found. Investigators are working to confirm the identity.

Steven Wolf, a Placer County Search and Rescue volunteer, is recovering after being shot in the hip, while assisting the Nevada County Sheriff's Office in a search of a missing person near the town of Washington.
