Nearly 800 firefighters continue battling the the Virginia Mountains Complex fires. It's composed of four separate wildland fires, including the Anderson fire, The Sage fire, The Seven Lakes fire, and the Tule fire which is the largest at over 20-thousand acres. The Rock Fire has been contained. All of the fires are burning within about 20 miles of each other in an arc about 30 miles north of Reno. Combined containment on the four remaining fires has been upgraded to 35 percent. Full containment on all fires is expected August sixth. The Tule fire has forced evacuations of homes in the Big Canyon Area north of Warrior Point at Pyramid Lake. The Anderson fire has prompted evacuations from the Cottonwood Creek and Fish Springs areas north of Pyramid Lake.
