For the first time in its 53 year history, the Reno National Championship Air Races will feature two on-site concerts this year. The concerts, which will be on Friday and Saturday night, will occur after the day’s final air race and are free to race attendees. The bands are the The Juantanamos performing rock hits, the Nick Lawrence Band playing Texas style country.

Workers at Donald Trump's Las Vegas hotel scored a victory in their effort to unionize, although it could still be a long time before employees have a contract, if managers choose to delay. The National Labor Relations Board rejected "Trump Ruffin Commercial LLC's" challenge of a December election in which a majority favored unionization. The ruling means the company is out of appeals with the NLRB.

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Chief Charlie Moore says incident command will be shifted to the Type Two Overhead Management Team tomorrow morning. The Chief says the scale and complexity of this fire requires that we transfer this to the Type 2 team so that regional resources can be released to their home jurisdiction. He says the Rock Fire remains at 50 percent contained. There is no containment on the Virginia Mountains Complex which firefighters say has moved closer to homes in the area. No structures are being threatened at this time, but TMFPD crews will monitor activity near homes as a safety precaution. The Rock Fire and Virginia Mountains Complex fires combined total approximately 10,500 acres burned.

There's a very serious injury accident eastbound on 80 at Rock near the Nugget. There's an injury accident in Incline Village northbound on 28 in front of SAND HARBOR.

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is reporting that the Rock Fire north of Reno is 50 percent contained and the total acreage burned has been reevaluated and decreased to 1,500 acres. No structures are being threatened at this time. Of the two fires burning, both the Rock Fire and Virginia Mountains Complex fire, approximately 10,500 acres have burned. The size was downgraded from 12,000 acres which was reported earlier in the day.

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District officials are warning residents to be careful because of high fire danger this afternoon and evening, due to projected thunderstorms, high winds and hot temperatures.
