Our news partner KOLO Eight News Now is reporting that a crowd of about 300 people showed up under the Reno Arch for a Black Lives Matter march. Organizers of the event said 500 people had confirmed that they would participate. The crowd included counter-protesters who responded to chants of "Black Lives Matter" with "All Lives Matter." Earlier about 25 to 30 protestors from the University of Nevada, Reno marched through the grounds of the university campus and down to the Washoe County Courthouse to protest the high conviction rate of black males and then joined Black Lives Matter march. Meantime Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says The internet based, anonymous source, advertisement promoting the Nevada State Capital grounds as a location for a “Day of Rage” protest failed to attract any protesters.
