    A Pahrump woman accused of falsifying voter registration applications has been arrested. Tina Marie Parks is facing 11 felony charges. The complaint says she fraudulently marked the party affiliation while registering them to vote for the June Primary. Parks worked for "Engage Nevada" a conservative community organization. The group says it is cooperating with law enforcement and says this kind of alleged misbehavior is intolerable. The mis-registration apparently denied people the right to vote in democratic primary.

    Washoe County is fighting drug abuse in the community using money seized from drug dealers. On Tuesday, Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks presented Join Together Northern Nevada with $10,000 at a community training event, in the form of a town hall meeting on prescription drug abuse. Jennifer Delett-Snyder with Join Together Northern Nevada says the money will likely help with more community training events designed to bring different groups like law enforcement and health care professionals together to better understand each others' perspective.The money will also help programs educating kids, to prevent them from growing up to become users.

    Before this year, there hasn’t been a new class of recruits for the Reno Fire Department in nearly eight years. But that’s about to change for the second time. Thirty-one recruits have joined the Reno Fire Department in 2016, with the newest class of 16 recruits getting ready to graduate after completing a twelve-week Recruit Academy.The Reno Fire Department recently updated the nearly 30-year-old firefighter test and included a two-tiered interview process with five different members of the department, including the chief, before recruits were offered a position, according to a report. There were about 750 applications for this recruitment period. A commencement ceremony for the second class of 2016 Reno Fire Department recruits will be today from 2 to 5 p.m. at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center.

    The new game Pokemon Go is taking the nation by storm and Reno is not an exception. Players are getting out of their homes, pulling out their phones and looking for the virtual characters all over town. Players are getting some help from the RTC. The mass transit agency says it's seeing an increase in number of people riding the bus because of the game. Joe Harrington with the RTC says Pokemon Go has players searching for characters near and around their bus stops. Once the Pokemon is captured, players are hopping on the bus and heading to another bus stop in search of more.
