Because of a new state law, two of the four open seats on the Washoe County school board were decided in yesterday's primary. Candidates who get more than 50 percent of the vote are declared winners and don't have to go to the general election. Incumbent Angie Taylor in District E got 53-percent of the vote over Paula Ward. Newcomer Scott Kelley in District A got 54-percent of the vote over Dale Richardson. Kenneth Grein will face Malena Raymond in district D in November. The vacant District G seat had eight candidates looking to fill it, that races has been narrowed down to Katy Simon Holland Vs. Bill Horn.
