Ky Anderson is an artist based out of Greenpoint Brooklyn. She recieved her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute. She has an upcoming group show of large scale works on paper at the Moore College of Art in Philidelphia. Her Solo show, titled The Cave, just ending at Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art in Kansas City. She has shown in London, Saint Chamas, France, Germany, Miami, Kanses and many other places. Her work can be seen at Kathryn Markel gallery in Chelsea. She’ll be in residence at the Vermont Studio center this year and she’s been featured in Studio Critical, Juxtapoz, and Two Coats of Paint among other publications and blogs. Her paintings are an ongoing exploration in abstraction that involve a strong narrative. Brian met up With Ky in her studio in Greenpoint and they spoke about her past and her current work.
