Skims should have slimmed down what it was charging people in New Jersey.
Instead, Kim Kardashian's clothing company collected sales tax in a state where that merchandise is tax-exempt.
That's what New Jersey's attorney general says as Skims has now agreed to pay a $200,000 civil penalty to resolve consumer fraud allegations that stemmed from 2019 through 2024.
The AG's office says Skims has already turned over the improperly-collected sales tax and has taken steps to reimburse people who bought its shapewear, underwear, and other apparel.
