Yesterday, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals paused a court order that would have required President Trump to return control of thousands of California National Guard troops in Los Angeles to Governor Gavin Newsom. This comes on the back of several days of violence and unrest in the wake of a marked increase in detentions and deportations taking place all across the US by ICE officials.
