Which is better, public school lacrosse or private school lacrosse? If you have the chance to play in a private school...should you go? Is it worth it? Will your goalie become a crack addict because there is more money in private school and therefore more drugs? (Just kidding on that last one, Karen). But seriously, should you go? Why should you go? Coaches need to understand the underlying causes of why an athlete does what they do. This takes a psychological understanding but also a physical understanding of what an athlete goes through. Many coaches, me included, work hard with our lacrosse goalies only to see that work ruined by other coaches who don't have that same understanding. In today's video Coach Edwards will discuss a somewhat common problem that goalies face and that is a "caving" of the knees when a shot is taken.

Women's lacrosse is notorious for bad clears. But don't tell that to the girls. I had an interesting conversation with one of our Lacrosse Goalie University members about this rather confusing topic. Women's lacrosse clears to NOT need to be as difficult as people make them. (For those of you who also play football, you're going to enjoy this one.

Coach Edwards is going to give you a perspective on ARC play that you haven't probably heard, ever, It's not about choosing the High Arc or the Low Arc Cult, but more about getting a goalie in position at all times.

Each week we take a video from a member of our lacrosse goalie community and do an in-depth review. Today, it's Frank Bagolie 2025 aka "Frankybags". This is not a Mafia play I assure you. In this video, Frank has a nice little stop and a clear, but we'll go over what could be done differently to make it even better. You'll enjoy this one!

Coach Edwards is going to go through a video clip sent to him by a concerned parent. The clip is of his goalie getting hacked like a tree in the forest on a busted clear. We'll talk about what your goalie can do in this situation and how not to lose your mind when it happens.

I was sent a comment posted in another lacrosse forum that really bothered me. Basically an old-school, out-of-touch coach, who insisted that not only should your goalie NOT be wearing pads like shin guards, etc, but why you should leave your club if they make you wear them. To be honest, it made me sick to my stomach that this type of thinking is still around.
