Parents blow a lot of money investing in camps and clinics that seem like a good idea, but they are really a waste of time, and at their worse they can retard the development of your lacrosse goalie.

Ultimately this can keep them from making teams they should make and ruining their dreams of playing college some day. Coach Edwards will talk about what he sees on a weekly basis doing goalie audits and how you can be a better consumer of lacrosse goalie coaching education.

Which is better, public school lacrosse or private school lacrosse?  If you have the chance to play in a private school...should you go? Is it worth it?  Will your goalie become a crack addict because there is more money in private school and therefore more drugs? (Just kidding on that last one, Karen).  But seriously, should you go?  Why should you go?  Does it help when getting into college?  We’ll discuss!

Coaches need to understand the underlying causes of why an athlete does what they do. This takes a psychological understanding but also a physical understanding of what an athlete goes through.  Many coaches, me included, work hard with our lacrosse goalies only to see that work ruined by other coaches who don’t have that same understanding.  In today’s video Coach Edwards will discuss a somewhat common problem that goalies face and that is a “caving” of the knees when a shot is taken.
