LAMP

Summer is heating up here in Los Angeles and if you weren’t already feeling excited from the upcoming Holiday festivities or the news from our local sports clubs, we have just the thing to get you in that euphoric summer state of mind. Damon Steele makes his return to the LAMP guest mix series with a brand new batch of fresh and funky records from all around the world of dance music, sure to get any 4th of July celebration sizzling from start to finish.

Seamlessly blending disco, house, funk, r&b, and hip-hop, Steele has quickly become a staple of the LAMP brand for his talent and vision as both a selector and a producer. Taking some time away from the DJ circuit to focus on finishing new productions Steele has spent much of the last few months locked deep in the studio putting the final touches on some new tunes we’re very excited about.

With the new tracks out for mastering and slated for release starting early next month, Steele is ready to make a splash in the LA scene all summer long starting with performances alongside heavy-hitters including Tiefschwarz, Trayer (of Hundred Waters), and Matoma. Stay tuned for brand new original music from Damon Steele arriving soon on PUZL Records and make sure to catch him live throughout the summer here in LA. For now sit back and enjoy this stellar selection of masterfully mixed tunes from our very own Damon Steele.

A couple of weeks ago Paris native Thomas Evans grabbed our attention with his release on Alan Fitzpatrick's label We Are The Brave. A solid sample of the high quality techno production he is putting out these days. With over a decade of experience moving dance floors Evans has been focusing his efforts on original productions and the community is taking note. His first full length album from Phobiq has garnered attention from some of the best in the business including the aforementioned Fitzpatrick along with Sam Paganini and Julien Jewel to name a few. We are super thankful to Thomas for sending us this mix. He is about to take you on a journey for nearly two hours with this one, so best settle in and get ready to blast off. Also check back tomorrow on the website (www.losangelesmusicproject.com) for the track list and more on Thomas Evans in our weekly interview conducted by PZB. Enjoy.

Really excited to share a new mix with you this week from Spanish producer Oscar L. With a catalog that dates back over a decade he has firmly established himself as one of the top producers and purveyors of banging ass club tracks that have kept many a party moving till the early dawn and beyond. The people of Santiago Chile certainly got to experience that live and in person as is apparent from the cheers and whistles you can hear in the background of the mix. We have a special live recording from Oscar L this past weekend when he took to the decks with another legend Pirupa at Club Room Chile on May 26th. Enjoy the mix and check back later this week at www.losangelesmusicproject.com for the full track listing along with our weekly interview put together by PZB.

This week we have one of my favorites joining us, Rich Wakley. If you have set foot on a dance floor in the last decade, especially the last 5 years, the chances are astronomical you have shook your ass to one or more of his tunes. Ranging in style from House to Tech House to Techno and places in between, Wakley's style can not be contained. Touching on our soul with classic vocal samples and infectious grooves, his music has only one purpose and that is to make you lose your mind and dance yourself silly. His productions can be found across many of the best labels in the world today such as Suara, Off, Lapsus, Lost and so many more. Sit back (actually you wont be sitting for long) and enjoy this one and make sure to check back over at LAMP (losangelesmusicproject.com) tomorrow for the full track list and Interview conducted this week by PZB.

Today we have Detroit producer, label owner and DJ, Chuck Daniels. You may have noticed a premiere we had a few weeks ago for his label Sampled Detroit vol. 16. His track “What!” along with an all star selection of talent made up the release and if you haven’t checked it out I have it linked down below. Chuck put together a really incredible mix for us this week and I think you will all agree he has a special knack for getting people up and moving. If you are heading to Movement (Detroit’s Annual Techno extravaganza) this year you can catch him opening up with a special 3 hour set and this mix should be all the incentive you need to get your ass there early. We have a great interview in store for you tomorrow over on the website, so for now enjoy the mix and check back tomorrow for the link.
