Welcome back to our series on Landmark Papers in Vascular Surgery. In this episode, Jacob, Amanda, and Matt sit down with Dr. William Jordan to discuss arguably one of the most landmark papers in the field, the NASCET trial. 

Dr. Jordan is the John E. Skandalakis Chair of Surgery, and Professor and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.  He completed his medical degree at Emory, followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a vascular surgery fellowship at Emory.  He serves on the editorial board of the JVS family of publications and for several other journals.  He is the immediate past president of the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery, and among many contributions to research in vascular surgery in general, he has published extensively on the treatment of carotid disease.  Dr. Jordan, thanks for your leadership of the specialty, and for joining us to discuss NASCET.
