大昔から、狢は山野に暮らしていた。そして、紀元千二百八十八年になって、はじめて人を化かすようになった。

その頃、陸奥の汐汲みの娘が、同じ村の汐焼きの男と恋をした。

二人は、人目を忍んで逢瀬を重ねたが、母親と二人暮らしという事情から、娘は行けたり行けなかったり、遅れたり。

ある夜、男は、娘に会えぬ哀しさから、歌をうたった。

Since ancient times, badgers have lived in the mountains and fields. It was not until the year 1288 A.D. that they began to scare people.

At that time, a girl from Mutsu, who was fetching water from the sea, fell in love with a man from the same village who was firing water from the sea.

The two met in secret, but because she lived alone with her mother, she was sometimes late, sometimes not.

One night, the man was so sad that he could not see his daughter that he sang a song to her.
