　新吉の目は、通りすがりの女の顔ばかりを次々と見ていた。

　新吉の探している女は、おどおどした顔の田舎娘である。

　彼は、田舎娘を騙して、怪しい家へ売る悪党であった。

　今日も、また一人、水戸から来たばかりという二十歳の娘が、新吉の毒牙にかかってしまった。
