越前の国の代官、野本彌治衞門が亡くなった時、部下たちは野本に不正や借金があるかのように見せかけ、野本の財産を全て奪おうとした。

部下たちは宰相に訴え、野本の妻子まで責任を問われることとなり、越前国を追われた。

ある日、その追われた先で、女中の一人がひきつけを起こし、野本の声と口調で話し始めた。

The subordinates appealed to the Prime Minister, and even Nomoto's wife and children were held responsible, and were chased out of the Echizen Province.

One day, while being chased away, one of the maidens suffered a stroke and began to speak in Nomoto's voice and tone.
