朗読 「仙人」 芥川龍之介

　北支那の市から市を渡って歩く見世物師に李小二（RiSyouji）という見世物師がいた。鼠に芝居をさせるのを商売にしている男である。

　天気がいいと人通りの多いところに立って歌を歌って人を寄せる。大人も子供も足を止める。人垣ができると李は鼠に面を被らせ衣装を着せて演技をさせた。芝居が終わるころには屋台の前に出してある盆の中に、いつの間にか、銅銭の山ができるのである。

　ある寒い日の雨の降る午後、李は商売から帰るところで道ばたに小さな廟を見つけその軒下に駆けこんだ。

There was a showman named RiSyouji who walked from city to city in North China. He was a man who made it his business to put on a show for rats.

When the weather was fine, he would stand in a busy street and sing songs to attract people. Adults and children alike would stop to watch. When the crowds gathered, Lee would have the rats put on masks and costumes and put on their performances. By the time the performance was over, a pile of copper coins had formed in a tray in front of the stall.

One cold, rainy afternoon, Li was returning home from his business when he spotted a small temple on the street and ran under its eaves.
