加賀藩の藩主、前田斉広は、江戸城の本丸へ登城する毎に、必ず愛用の金の煙管を持って行った。

金の煙管は、他の大名たちはもちろん、城の坊主たちの噂になるほどの逸品であった。

ある時、河内山宗俊が、その煙管を拝領すると言い出した。

Maeda Narihiro, the feudal lord of the Kaga Clan, always took his favorite gold smoking pipe with him whenever he went up to the main castle of Edo.

The gold smoking pipe was such a gem that it became the talk of the castle priests as well as the other feudal lords.

One day, Kouchiyama Munetoshi offered to take the pipe.
