We take you on a journey through the concept of taking responsibility for your feelings, as outlined in NVC. We'll walk you through the three stages of emotional development—starting with "emotional slavery," where you might feel burdened by others' emotions.
Then, we'll dive into the "obnoxious stage," where you start to push back, and finally reach "emotional liberation," where you learn to fully own your feelings without putting that weight on others.
By sharing our personal experiences, we aim to help you better understand how these stages play out in real life and highlight the importance of recognizing your needs and practicing empathy in your relationships.

This episode explores the powerful concept of connecting our feelings to underlying needs and how to navigate receiving difficult messages. It’s explained that while others' words may be a stimulus, our feelings stem from how we interpret them and our own needs.
The discussion delves into the four choices we have when responding to challenging messages: hearing blame and focusing on what's wrong with the speaker, hearing blame and focusing on what's wrong with ourselves, recognizing our own feelings and needs, or identifying the speaker's feelings and needs.
Through examples and role-playing, the episode illustrates how to effectively apply these principles in personal and professional settings, ultimately fostering greater understanding and connection.
