The story starts off fairly simply with just another ordinary day at school for Beth and her friends but lessons are about to take a darker turn as a Zombie plague swiftly consumes the planet, and leaves Beth and the gang trapped at school with only their wits and the contents of the stationery cupboard to defend themselves with. Little William of Common Town and his adventures come to life in this audio version of The Great Race. The voices of all the creatures of the forest and that of the narrator help to convey a large range of emotions! From joyful and excited, to scared and unsure of what's ahead. William Locklear as narrator knocked this one out of the park! Ever switching character voices keep all listeners engaged and actively anticipating what comes next!

A fun, new approach to Ben Franklin

This book looks at Ben Franklin in a fun, new way. Both my son and I enjoyed learning a few new things about one of our country's founding fathers.

An Excellent Book---with lots of fun and eye-opening suggestions for children's recreational activities

I heard about this book and purchased it for my granddaughter. She not only loved reading it and listening to the catchy songs----but she and her friends wanted to "camp in" immediately. I had a great time with them creating a real campground in the living room and spending a few hours together "camping" and having fun together. Not one of the children even thought about TV or devices....they were completely engaged. The story is simple, fun, and very timely.

Fantastic read for the little ones too!

This book can be for a younger age than 4 years, because my daughter loves to listen to the audio book. The story has a wonderful narrator making it enjoyable for children to listening and follow along. JabStar the musical artist sings two entertaining songs and the kids can follow along with the lyrics in the book. "Login on Your Noggin" is a favorite of mine. I think children should do more of that. Camping in the living room encourages family time to converse and sing together.

The kids can't get enough of reading it! I shared this book with my kindergarten classroom and it was one of the hottest books to read during free time! The kids loved the songs, and couldn't get enough of the wonderful illustrations!

A Great Message to the whole family!!!

I really enjoyed this book. Parents and children need to be reminded that you don't need devices and technology to have fun. My young grand children love to create living room forts. So I can't wait to send this book to them.

OMG! This is the BEST Book for our zombie times.

As an Occupational Therapist I see so many children with ADHD and unable to focus and so glued to technology. Children lose their ability to be creative that way. I also have a three year old niece who waants to play on the ipad all the time and watch videos on the computer. Now this is an amazing idea to not just read this book, sing the songs with her. Also I could put this idea in practice with her and the family camp in the living room.

MISCHIEVOUS MESS

Eastman has woven a creative and innovative "fairy" tale. She narrates the legend of the dust bunnies. Contrary to popular belief, tiny mischievous fairies spread dust around each night while we sleep and create a dirty mess. They compete to see who can create the biggest mess. According to this legend, one sad little fairy did not fit in with the group. Artie snatched up the dirt and hid it from view. But how and why did 'dust bunnies' get created? Will Artie ever be accepted? How can children apply this legend?

The four line rhymes for each page flow along smoothly and have a nice rhythm. Kevin Richter does a marvelous job with the illustrations which are colorful and expressive. Recommended especially for children in the four to seven age range, although younger children will enjoy the message communicated through the illustrations.

AMAZING!!

Dust Bunnies: Fairies love them and so will you!

At last, a perfectly logical explanation for dust, lint, cobwebs and crumbs. There are reasons for those messy things and itâs far beyond our control. Fairies bring it, sling it and spread it around. They work as we sleep, without making a sound.

Author Michelle R. Eastman shines a light on the world of fairies and their daily (or rather, nightly) activities in a magical tale in rhyming verse, with the wonderfully crafted illustrations of Kevin Richter.

Children of all ages and parents will enjoy a fun read, as they discover reasons for the perpetual untidiness of our homes (not our fault) and the importance of Dust Bunnies. Fairies love them and so will your Young Readers.

BRILLANT

I am afraid that I will not be able to capture how much I love this book. It is brilliant, clever and a delight to read aloud. My son and I get taken away in the hilarious, rhyming story and mesmerized by fairy's in all their forms. But, I am beyond in love with Artie. I feel like many children can relate to him and feel deeply connected. Artie struggles to fit in and struggles to get others to understand his special talent. But in due time, he realizes that he needs to do what he loves and then others will also admire his talent. This is a story about accepting yourself first and not changing to suit others. It also is about the fact that everyone has talents and those talents can add to the betterment of others. I cannot wait to read this to the children in my class. They will be enthralled, that is for sure.

This is the third book in the Castle Glower Series - Thursdays with the Crown

This is the third book in the Castle Glower series by Jessica Day George. The book is continues on with adventures of the Glower children in their magic castle. The castle is acting in a most curious way. An experienced wizard is summoned, but different wizard shows up. The castle ends up transporting three of the glower children and a couple of friends to a different word. The castle is in trouble to say the least, and the new wizard has a few secrets he is keeping from the Glower family. This is a fantastic fantasy and I would recommend it to young and old alike. Now on to the fourth book (Fridays with the Wizards).

Can't Wait for Fridays!

I enjoyed Tuesdays at the Castle and Wednesdays in the Tower. As soon as I finished Thursdays with the Crown, I looked for a Fridays... followup (not listed yet). The series has an original idea for a plot. The castle moves between its former location and the current one, depending on what is needed--until trouble brews and the castle feels threatened. The castle isn't quite a character in the story, since its actions are a little too subtle and underplayed, but it certainly adds a delightful twist to the lives of the royal children who live in it. They find griffins and griffin eggs in the castle's former location. No one believed griffins were real, and certainly not alive in their lifetime. Celie discovers taking care of a toddler griffin is a full-time job, especially because the castle takes measures to prevent her from telling her family about him. Keeping him secret makes for some funny high jinks--until others get their own griffins. This book ends with the possibility of visiting another realm and having more adventures.

Not up to par with the rest of the series

I was certainly looking forward to the conclusion of this series after the last book's cliffhanger. I'm afraid this was a big disappointing. It never quite seemed to get off the ground. You have griffins, and bad guys, and other bad guys, and somewhat in-between guys, and basically a lot of running around from place to place for no apparent reason. "Tuesdays in the Castle" was full of charm; one didn't really care why the castle did the things that it did. (It was a magic castle - why not?) The author's attempt to "explain" the magic of the castle actually kinda' took the magic out of it! This came across as a bit of a hasty wrap-up of the series.

Great Book. Great Series.

My children and I have enjoyed this entire series. Ready to read the next one! My daughter likes it so much, she's read it twice and will probably curl up this winter and read it again! I've read the first two in the series and will read this one too.
