Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens Need to Best the West
This week, the guys start the episode but putting in as much effort as the Habs did this past week. For a team that is in a playoff race, the Habs certainly did not come out in any games this week ready to play or compete. And what seemed like a gift from the schedule turned into a frustrating week.
Connor and Johannes then take a quick look at the trade deadline and the Habs (lack) of moves. The guys were not impressed with Marc Bergevin's press conference and excuses for not making a bigger deal. Johannes is eager to see secret weapon Jordan Weal though.
They guys discuss the Habs big west coast California road trip. This trip is usually not very kind to the Habs. If the Habs want to stay relevant in the playoff conversation they need to do well. Considering the Ducks and Kings are at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, the Habs need to take advantage.
All this and Antti Niemi talk, John Tavares day, winners and losers and much much more!

  • Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens at the Deadline

Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens at the Deadline
On this week's episode, the Montreal Canadiens are at the trade deadline. So far the Habs have added some small pieces, Connor and Johannes thing it might be time to add more. Before we get to that, however, the guys talk about the Habs week. It started out well enough with the Habs responding after losing four in a row. The week ended on a sour note, however. The Habs blew a 3-0 lead against the Leafs. Definitely took the shine off the week for Connor and Johannes.
Then the guys dive into what the Habs should do at the deadline. With some big names already on the move, the Habs need to act quickly if they want in on anyone of significance. That is if they are interested. Connor thinks Marc Bergevin needs to take a big swing. Johannes is on board but sorting out who is the issue.
All this and do people overvalue prospects and picks, winners and losers, the Habs "window" and much much more.

  • MnM Hockey Podcast - NHL Trade Deadline Preview With Ian Tulloch
The MnM Hockey Podcast is back. However, Chace could not make it this week. Instead, Ian Tulloch joins Alex for an NHL Trade Deadline Preview. Ian is a writer at The Athletic, as well as the host of the Leafs Geek Podcast.
Alex and Ian start off by looking at the Charlie Coyle for Ryan Donato trade today. Alex believes it was a pretty good trade for both sides. However, Ian thinks one of the sides may have come out better.
Following that, they look at some of the big buyers in the Atlantic Division. Alex asks Ian what he thinks each of the big three teams should do when it comes to the NHL Trade Deadline. They also follow this trend for the Metro.
Next, they switch to the Western Conference. Where they take a look at the top of the Central division. As well, they look at the wild Western wild card race. Breaking down which teams are legit, who may buy from that group and who should be staying put.
Lastly, they look at some of the biggest names likely to move at the NHL Trade Deadline. Looking at where they may go and what kind of return they can bring said teams. Ian and Alex look at who may be a surprise move come the deadline and who may be the loudest come February 25th. Tune in for all of this and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast.
