Their strong play has convinced Johannes of something Connor was aware of last week. The Habs are a playoff team.

  • MnM Hockey Podcast - Auston Matthews Contract and NHL News
The guys are back with a very busy week ahead of them. They start by jumping into the biggest news of the week. That being the Auston Matthews contract. Auston Matthews Contract was 5 years at an aav of 11.634. Twitter didn't seem to like it, but did the guys? Alex had some mixed feelings on the deal. However, Chace was on board with it.
Following the Auston Matthews contract, they took a look at some smaller trades. Brian Boyle and Cody McLeod. Alex and Chace were left scratching their heads a bit with this one. Wondering just what the Preds were thinking?
Next, they took a look at the insane Western Playoff picture and why every team is still in it. They ask themselves if it will actually be a seller's market this year? Not a buyers one like what was once expected.
Finally, they look at why giving Sergei Bobrovsky a long-term deal would be a huge mistake. Chace is very perplexed on some teams rumoured interest and plans for him. See what he can't quite wrap his head around about the deal. Tune in for all of this and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens are a Playoff Team
The guys are back. After their own personal bye week and all-star break, Connor and Johannes are back on the mics. The Habs were also back on the ice after what felt like a month without them.
The guys look at how the Habs entered into their break and how they looked coming out of it. The Habs are currently sitting in third place in the Atlantic. They are in a position battle with rivals Toronto and Boston. It should make for a fun final stretch of the season. Connor feels that the Habs have solidified themselves as a playoff team. Johannes wants to see more. He always wants more!
With the Habs tightening their grip on a playoff spot, the guys then discuss what the Habs might do at the deadline. Both agree the Habs are likely out on any of the top end players, as the cost would be too high. They also agree that the Habs are not likely to pull off a hockey trade. The guys also agree that the Habs should not look to add size at the deadline as they did in 2016-17.
All this and Johannes' ski trip, Connor's health, winners and losers and the guys pick the Super Bowl and much much more!

  • MnM Hockey Podcast - Jake Muzzin Trade and Midseason Report Cards
The guys are back with another podcast. This week, Alex and Chace decide to hand out midseason report cards. These report cards were based on teams vs expectations at the start of the year.
The guys start by looking at Peter Chiarelli and his firing. Why Chiarelli's moves made the Oilers the only team with an F. As well as what is to come. However, Alex and Chace don't think Edmonton fans are safe just yet. The problem may start at the top and that could be an issue.
Next, they look at teams with D and then C grades. This is generally teams underperforming what the expectations were. With a mix of teams who are just plain bad. However, a common theme near the bottom seemed to be goaltending. Most of these teams had poor goalies to go with them.
After that, the guys look at the B group. This also features the new home of Jake Muzzin. The Jake Muzzin trade was broken while Alex and Chace were recording. So, they spent Toronto's part talking about how he will fit. They look at the return and why this was good for Toronto. Alex and Chace also believe this could be the move that turns them into a legit contender.
Finally, the guys look at the A grades. With not much to say they admire what some of the teams have become. For all of this and more, listen to the MnM Hockey Podcast!
