  • How To Stop Hair Loss (Part 2) - Jonathan Graff MD 8/22/15
Jonathan Graff, MD joins the Darrell Wayne to talk about hair loss. Why it happens and how to stop hair loss! "Prevention is the first and most important battle in the fight to retain full heads of hair, and by looking ahead we can all save our scalps.

There are different types of hair loss. The most common is a genetically inherited hair loss or male pattern baldness. This created thinning hair on the top of their head. This is all really about genetic factors. Men can start thinning in there 20's where as women are less likely to have as much noticeable hair loss. Hormones also play a huge factor in hair loss as well.

There are a few things that people can do to slow down or prevent hair loss. The right approach must be taken or it wont's work. Since the problem is genetic and hormonal, both of those issues must be addressed. Massaging your scalp and using magic shampoos don't really seem to do much because the problem really isn't a dirty scalp. One thing men can do is talk to your doctor about a prescription drug called Finasteride. This will stop a mans body from producing the hormones that cause hair loss. Rogaine has been around for a long period of time and was actually used to treat high blood pressure. When applied topically it generally makes your hair think its more alive than it actually is. The problem with Rogaine is that it requires a huge amount of commitment; you have to use it everyday. If you stop using Rogaine the results go away. Hair transplant is actually very successful. The key to good hair transplant results is the surgeon you choose. Hair transplant surgery is very artistic and a skilled doctor will yield a very different result than someone who is not as skilled in the procedure.

  • Dating Over 50 (Part 1) - Michelle Cohen Ph.D 8/8/15
Michelle Cohen, Ph.d joins Mark Alyn to talk about dating over 50. After a spouse dies or leaves, the remaining spouse often goes into a depression. They end up spending their lives watching Wheel of Fortune and don’t get out to interact with people. This can lead to serious health issues including dementia and high blood pressure. Dr. Cohen talks about why dating later in life is important and how it can help make life more enjoyable. She offers ideas on when it’s time to start dating and ideas on meeting new people.

Getting out and meeting new people as we get older really helps people be happy and helps with depression and anxiety. After a spouse dies there is a natural period of mourning that people have to go through, this is especially more difficult for older people. Older people tend to cling onto old patterns and its much harder to get back out and move forward with life. It's very helpful for other family members to encourage the newly single spouse to get out of the house and be happy again.

Dating at 50 plus is also very different than it was for people when they were younger. Now most people meet on online dating website. A lot of people look up old friends or old high school and college friends through facebook. Odds are you are going to find someone from your past who you used to know that is now single as well. It's much less intimidating than getting out there and meeting new people late in life.

  • Estrogen Steroids In Our Food (Part 1) - Nick Delgado 3/25/16
Nick Delgado joins us to talk about estrogen steroids in our food and to share his secrets for getting “Ripped Abs and Shapely Thighs!" According to Nick, In America and Europe, every year 82 tons of estrogen are dumped by livestock (inherent in animal metabolism) into land and water across the USA and Europe. These estrogen and other hormone pollutants compete with and suppress testosterone levels and increase the rate of obesity, acne, prostate cancer, breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

Nick explains how a glass of milk or a small amount of cheese gives 150 times more estrogen exposure than water. Investigators found eight estrogen metabolites and seven other sex steroid hormone metabolites in milk. Surprisingly, nonfat milk and buttermilk were found to have the most harmful concentrations of estrogens when compared to whole milk.

You can detoxify from these harmful estrogen steroids by increasing your consumption of plant-protein based diet foods. If you want to consume milk, use almond or rice milk to avoid the unnecessary exposures to harmful estrogens and other hormones. For tasty recipes see the cookbook Simply Healthy, written by Dr. Nick Delgado which is soy-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and meat-free; all proteins are obtained from quality sources of sweet potatoes, beans, peas, brown rice, green, yellow vegetables and fruit.

Also, be sure to use the best supplements like Estro Block Pro and LivDtox with the highest concentration of absorbable phytochemicals to detoxify from these harmful estrogens to metabolize and cleanse your system from the byproducts of estrogen toxins. See estroblock.com/mtor-milk-estrogen

  • What Is Autoimmune Disease (Part 1) - Greg Celaya 7/18/15
Regular contributor on Late Night Health, Greg Celaya, DC, joins us to talk about autoimmune diseases and actually what is autoimmune disease.

Some of the symptoms of autoimmune disease are fatigue, muscle weakness, memory problems, low grade fevers, allergies, swollen glands, inflammation, headaches, digestive problems and many more.

What is an autoimmune disease? Autoimmune diseases is when your body has a weakness that is letting certain proteins into your system that shouldn't be there. Your body then becomes hyper sensitive to those proteins in the future. Your body sees these protein and sends out antibodies against it and your immune system attacks it. These proteins look a lot like the healthy tissue in your body and so when those antibodies attack the protein they sometimes attack the normal tissues in your body as well.

A lot of people are misdiagnosed when they go to the doctor with symptoms. Most doctors do not do the tests needed to isolate an autoimmune disease. There are specific tests that need to be done to properly identify a specific autoimmune disease. Most of the time health insurances companies won't cover these tests, this is why most doctors don't order these tests.

70% of people who have autoimmune disease usually have more than one disease they are dealing with. People who live with un-diagnosed autoimmune disease have a very low quality of life.

  • Diabetes: Eat, Chew, Live (Part 1) - John Poothullil, MD 3/4/16
John Poothullil, MD, FRCP, author of Eat, Chew, Live joins Mark Alyn to talk about one of the biggest epidemics in America, diabetes.

Dr. Poothullil talks about a new approach to diabetes, an epidemic that is rapidly expanding around the world. One in 4 adults over 65 in the US being a Type 2 diabetic and 1 in 3 people over age 20 is pre-diabetic. He discusses how diabetes is a serious medical condition that can cause damage to body cells and lead to neuropathy, erectile dysfunction in men, blindness, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and a premature death.

Medical science commonly blames diabetes on insulin resistance, but Dr. Poothullil believes this theory is incorrect. He explains how insulin resistance claims that only three types of body cells become resistant to the hormone insulin, produced in the pancreas. Insulin tells cells to let glucose into them, but if cells are resistant, it causes the glucose to remain in the bloodstream, leading to high blood sugar and diabetes.

Dr. Poothulli shares his findings based on the 20 years of research he's done. He has concluded that insulin resistance cannot be accurate. There is another body metabolism that can explain more logically how high blood sugar develop. Dr. Poothullil explains how the over consumption of grains causes a normal body metabolism to go haywire, creating high blood sugar. This is why diabetes is spreading throughout the world in every country where grain products become a major portion of the diet. This new theory explains why even thin people are getting the disease , why teenagers getting it and why some pregnant women develop gestational diabetes and then shed it after giving birth.

With this information, Dr. Poothulli shares with the Late Night Health audience how they can prevent and even reverse high blood sugar and diabetes. Specific changes in diet can help people avoid the risks rather than taking drugs or injecting insulin for a lifetime.
