Tonight‘s poem “No One Cares “is a poignant reflection on the isolation that is so prevalent in our modern world. I know I feel it very deeply at times, especially this evening. This poem is a tribute and a voice to those who have felt left behind by, not only the world, but by society, family and loved ones as well.

I haven’t slept in days, or maybe a week. I seemed to have crossed some kind of invisible line where I’m not sure if my conscious is in control or my subconscious has taken over. I’m definitely in a strange place at the moment. My eyes and heart are heavy and that has led me to writing this poem. I hope you enjoy it and if you’re battling insomnia as I am … know you’re not alone.

Sometimes I find life challenging at the best of times and I question the soundness of my mind, and at times struggle to understand why things are the way they are and I question my sanity in this insane world.

During World War II between May and November 1942, the Nazis murdered an estimated 50,000 Jewish people in the forest of Bronna Góra. This poem is not only a reminder that the tragic event occurred, but it is a voice for every man, woman, and child that was brutally murdered for no other reason than they existed and were Jewish. My heart aches for each and every one of them. We must do better as human beings …
