What if understanding your financial anxiety could unlock a healthier relationship with money? Join us as we welcome Stephanie Olano, a trailblazing financial trauma coach from Awkward Money, who sheds light on the silent struggles many face growing up with financial instability. Stephanie shares how the Latinx BIPOC community, in particular, can navigate the emotional currents of financial trauma and anxiety, offering insights into recognizing and overcoming these hidden hurdles.
Stephanie and I dive into the powerful intersection of financial decision-making and mental health, with a spotlight on the Latinx community. We discuss how understanding and naming the emotions tied to financial behaviors can lead to more intentional decision-making. Not to mention the pressure of existing in capitalist societies where some might feel like outsiders.

Ready to take calculated risks by investing in Rental Properties? Sign up for my Rental Property Bootcamp!
What if the fear of taking risks is the very thing holding us back from the financial freedom we dream of? Join me as I confront this fear head-on, inspired by personal experiences within the Latino community where financial stability has traditionally been prized above all else. Growing up, many of us were taught to sidestep debt and prioritize safe, predictable livelihoods. Yet, these well-intentioned lessons might be stifling our potential for wealth-building. Through my own journey of navigating calculated risks, I've discovered how reframing failure as a stepping stone rather than a setback can unlock new opportunities, particularly in realms like real estate investment.
Let's challenge the conventions that keep us tethered to financial limitations and explore practical strategies for embracing risk in a way that is informed and purposeful. I share stories of early missteps and valuable lessons learned, underscoring the importance of understanding your "why" to propel you forward. Whether it's investing in rental properties or launching a new venture, taking informed risks can pave the way for generational wealth and help close the racial wealth gap. By reflecting on personal barriers and sharing collective insights, we stand to break cycles of financial instability and create lasting legacies for our community. Join the conversation and be part of the change.

The election results left our community feeling shocked and frustrated. In this episode, I’m getting real about the recent election results and breaking down the surprising voting trends among Latinos. This is more than a reaction—it's a call to understand how political decisions directly impact our finances and our comunidad. Money is political! It’s time we take charge, connect the dots between politics and our personal finances, and get smarter about how we vote and advocate for ourselves.
I’ll also share how I plan to create more financial education content for our community. With more Latino voices needed on YouTube, TikTok, and in real estate, I'm pushing myself to create content in Spanish and bring more resources. We have to advocate for ourselves—without overlooking the issues in our communities—for real change.
Where do we go from here? Well, now more than ever, we have to push for financial education, especially in Spanish! As we move into next year, I’m thrilled to bring you more resources, including the relaunch of the Rental Property Bootcamp, a fresh new website, and expert voices to keep you informed. Your ideas and feedback are everything as we grow this space to educate, engage, and empower nuestra comunidad.
