The long holiday season can be a very challenging time for many reasons. Sometimes little, everyday things can help make space for joy. Looking for joy during times of struggle wasn't something I would've done a few years ago. It's one of the things that I've learned. I encourage you to do the same, particularly when there seems to be no joy as all.

This month has brought us challenges associated with hurricane season, and I'm reminded to be grateful for every single day.

The list of celebrations for September is long and includes my mother's birthday, Woody's birthday, and my 15th wedding anniversary! I also take time to celebrate the power of our mothers. 

If you need a laugh, you've come to the right place. I'm sure one of my rants (stories) will at least make you smile. Perhaps you can relate to having plans go wrong and being stuck in a weird situation.

The libation of the month didn't turn out too well for me. It doesn't make the cut. Still, it was fun mixing it up!

Whiskey tasting has never been so satisfying. This one is going to always be in my home stash! I can see myself sipping Kikori and enjoying conversations with close family and friends. It's so easy on the palate, even with the sharp heat.

It's all about health this month. I'm celebrating feeling good in my body and even the experience of going through medical testing and waiting for the results. This isn't usually at the top of my list of fun things to do. It's also not fun when you run out of medication and must go through the process of renewing a prescription. Renewing a prescription is supposed to be easy. Ha! Not this time. Learn from my mistake.

There is a connection between your relationships and the laughter and joy you experience. Perhaps you haven't thought about this. I've been thinking a lot about it lately. 

• Who are the people in your life? 
• How often do you interact with the people in your life? 
• What are those interactions like? 

Are your interactions with others filled with laughter and joy most of the time, some of the time, or rarely? What if you discovered you rarely interact with people with whom you laugh the most? What if you discovered you rarely interact with the people who bring your the most joy? What would you do? Could you change those interactions to increase laughter and joy (for you and the other person)? 

This episode can help give you insights about your relationships and give you a starting point for how to change your interactions to align with your daily laughter goal and your desire for more joy.
