Let’s go down for a little marketing history lesson. WHEN did "spamming" start? WHO started it? WHY?
Because when we look at history, we understand that there’s no such thing as “internet marketing”.
Marketing is a set of principles, not platforms—we just use the platforms to do the principles.
So from the first direct mail campaign and the first spam email to today’s paid ad campaigns and free distribution platforms… Marketing remains the same, the same set of principles for everyone who does it.
And if you get those principles, then you can be a great marketer on EVERY platform, the old and the new.
In this episode, I want to take a look at that history and also talk about what marketing really, actually is. Let’s jump right in!
