  • How to Manage Your Parent's Estate with Nate Morrisey

Do you still remember your mom’s ancient typewriter that your dad used to fix whenever the keys get stuck? What about your brother’s collection of David Bowie mixtapes that he was so eager to hide from you when you were younger? • The Best of The Menopause Movement Podcast: The Enneagram with Stephanie Davis

We all want to make positive changes in our lives. In order to do that, we need to reexamine ourselves, be aware of the things that we do unconsciously, and recalibrate our psyche to achieve the things that we want to achieve through the enneagram. But what is an enneagram and how does it fit in our journey to self-discovery?

That’s what we’re here to find out in our third episode of “The Best of The Menopause Movement Podcast” series. Today, we’ll take a deep dive into what makes us tick as we re-release our 19th episode featuring Stephanie Davis, an enneagram expert and a trainer educated in business, psychology, and systems theory.

Today, we have another truly informative and fascinating episode as we learn more about the enneagram, the nine different types and their general characteristics, and what your type might be.

Learn more about self-discovery through the enneagram today by tuning in to this episode!

    What’s Discussed in This Episode:

    1. The enneagram is a deep dive into what makes you tick. Unlike other personality systems, it goes deeper than behaviors [2:28]
    2. Oscar Ichazo came up with the enneagram of Personality in the 70s, taking psychology and ego development and mapping it on the symbol [4:23]
    3. What you can get from learning the enneagram is a perpetual self-busting machine. You start to see things about yourself that you never realized [8:39]
    4. In the enneagram, what makes you your type is how “messed up” you are when it comes to your heart/passion (emotional distortion), head/fixation (mental distortion), and gut/subtype (instinct) [12:02]
    5. There is a key emotion for each triad. Within each triad are three types: one type tends to overdo the key emotion, the other is the opposite, and the last has a weird relationship with it [16:42]
    6. An example of the gut triad. Gut triad: it’s all about the boundaries, and their key emotion is anger [18:06]
    7. There are no accurate enneagram tests. We pick up our behaviors from our parents and social expectations. This wiring is not something you can include in a test, and the most it can do is give you a starting point of where to look [25:27]
    8. The gut triad (1, 8, 9), what makes them tick, their ego, and how they react [26:56]
      1. Type 1 [26:01]
      2. Type 8 [26:56]
      3. Type 9 [29:33]
    9. The heart triad (2, 3 4): what makes them tick, their ego, and how they react. This type focuses on social relationship dynamics. Their overarching issue is shame [32:20]
      1. Type 2 [33:33]
      2. Type 3 [37:26]
      3. Type 4 [42:25]
    10. The goal is to loosen the illusions of your type, not change your type. Your strengths are still there, but your weaknesses will be a lot easier to deal with [46:16]
    11. We’re all going to have certain characteristics of nine types to some degree. Each has an interesting relationship with the two types beside them. Meanwhile, the two types that connect to yours in the diagram are your opposites. [51:43]
    12. The head triad (5, 6, 7): what makes them tick, their ego, and how they react [57:23]
      1. Type 5 [57:45]
      2. Type 6 [1:00:58]
      3. Type 7 [1:07:46]
    13. Other theories from Katherine Fauvre and Claudio Naranjo, and the continuous evolution of the field [1:13:37]
    14. Resources for your growth [1:21:52]
    15. Going through the nine enneagram types and drawing a caricature for each [1:24:13]

    About the Guest:

Stephanie Davis is a certified Enneagram Teacher accredited by the International Enneagram Association with 30 years of experience teaching the Enneagram to big businesses and organizations. About the Guest:

Julia Lally, The Pleasure Witch, is a renowned sex coach who is based in London. Julia started out as many women do, taking care of her family. After several years of doing the same thing, she felt empty inside and out. As she was struggling to find a way to her true happiness she realized that she had placed sex at the bottom of her list of priorities.

She was then introduced to Orgasmic Meditation, a 15-minute practice with a partner that has no goal but to feel. This opened her eyes to so many opportunities. After years of study and practice, Julia Lally now teaches what she has learned and is now known as The Pleasure Witch.

  • Through the Looking Glass with Shaman Makhosi Pitts

We often see science and spirituality as two parallel dimensions that can never intersect with each other. However, through the intimate study of spirituality, the universe, and human DNA, we begin to understand that there is a lot about science that can be further explained and experienced in spirituality. And in today’s global crisis, there’s no other way to interpret what’s happening around us other than it is the world’s own way of rebalancing and harmonizing with its natural order.

In this week’s podcast episode, I talk once more with Shaman Makhosi Pitts about the shamanic perspective of things and how these current events create an opportunity for us to realign with our true nature as one big entity that has broken off into thousands of different beings.

In our conversation, we talked about the ancestral DNA and how it shapes our future, about quantum entanglement, and how we can better change the world by changing ourselves. By the end of the podcast episode, we’ll also be having the privilege of learning more about regular cleansing, its value, and how it’s done.
