Alexandra Stan este o solistă vocală din România. S-a născut în anul 1989.

Deși a fost pasionată de muzică si compoziția ei încă din copilărie, cariera sa muzicală a început atunci când doi producători au auzit-o cântând la un bar de karaoke, în 2009, și i-au oferit un contract.

După aceea piesa sa de debut intitulată „Lollipop”, a fost lansată în același an, astfel Alexandra devenind cunoscută în România.

Criticii au lansat comentarii tăioase la adresa erotismului exagerat al videoclipului, care a fost regizat pentru a se potrivi cu melodia.

Cel de-al doilea cântec al său, „Mr. Saxobeat”, s-a bucurat imediat de succes și i-a adus faimă la nivel internațional, înregistrând vânzări de peste un milion de exemplare și câștigând poziții fruntașe în clasamentele muzicale din nouă țări.

La Premiile industriei muzicale românești, în 2011, Stan a fost nominalizată la secțiunea „Border breaker” și „Cea mai bună artistă”, în timp ce cântecul său „Mr. Saxobeat” a fost nominalizat la categoria „Cel mai bun cântec” și „Cel mai bun dance”.

La premiile MTV Europe Music Awards din același an, a câștigat premiul pentru „Best Romanian Act” și a primit o nominalizare la categoria „Best European Act”.

Cel de-al treilea single al Alexandrei, intitulat „Get Back”, s-a bucurat, de asemenea, de succes internațional.

Alexandra Stan is a singer from Romania who was born in 1989.

Although she had a penchant for singing and writing songs from her early years, her music career started when two music producers heard her sing at a karaoke bar in 2009 and proffered her a music contract.

Subsequently, her debut song entitled "Lollipop" was released that same year, and she became popular in her native country of Romania.

Critics gave scathing reviews to the music video that was made to go with it because of its intemperate eroticism.

Her second song, "Mr. Saxobeat," was an instant hit and won her international fame as it sold more than one million copies in one year and climbed to the top of the music charts in nine countries.

At the Romanian Music Awards in 2011, Stan was nominated for the Borderbreaker Award and Best Female Singer, while her song "Mr. Saxobeat" was nominated for Best Song and Best Dance.

At the MTV Europe Music Awards the same year, she won the award for Best Romanian Act and received a nomination for Best European Act.

Stan's third single was entitled "Get Back," and it was internationally successful as well.

The following year, her next single entitled "1,000,000" featuring rapper Carlprit was released.

She also released her first studio album entitled Saxobeats.

In 2013 and 2014, Stan's career went on hiatus, postponing the album release that was scheduled for 2013 to deal with an assault case and copyright infringement lawsuit.

Her return in 2014 was met with great success with the songs "Thanks for Leaving" and "Cherry Pop."
