Grădina Cișmigiu este situată lângă centrul Bucureștiului, în România.

Ea împrejmuiește un parc public, care include un lac făcut de mâna omului.

Parcul este cel mai mare și mai vechi din București, din interiorul zonei centrale a orașului.

Există câteva repere importante în interiorul Grădinii Cișmigiu.

Rotonda Scriitorilor este plină de busturile a doisprezece dintre cei mai iluștri scriitori ai României.

Scriitorii înfățișați acolo sunt Vasile Alecsandri, Nicolae Bălcescu, Mihai Eminescu, Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu, Alexandru Odobescu, Duiliu Zamfirescu, Titu Maiorescu, Alexandru Vlahuță, Ion Creangă, Ștefan Octavian Iosif, George Coșbuc și Ion Luca Caragiale.

Alte două repere importante sunt constituite de Monumentul Eroilor Francezi și Monumentul Eroilor Americani.

Primul a fost ridicat în onoarea trupelor franceze care au pierit în cursul campaniei românești din Primul Război Mondial, în timp ce ultimul a fost ridicat în onoarea trupelor americane ucise în cursul celui De-al Doilea Război Mondial, în România.

Pe lângă acestea, există o sculptură a jurnalistului român George Panu, autor și activist pentru drepturile femeilor și o alta a Maicii Smara.

Grădina Cișmigiu a fost construită în 1847, pe locul unui iaz popular printre pescari încă din anii 1600.

Acolo existau colonii de rațe Mallard.

O altă parte a grădinii este așezată pe locul unei foste vii.

Horticultorul Wilhelm Friedrich Carl Meyer a petrecut decenii, lucrând la grădină, plantând noi tipuri de flori și făcând peisajul mai romantic.

The Cismigiu Gardens are located near central Bucharest in Romania.

They make up a public park that encloses a manmade lake.

The park is Bucharest's largest and oldest inside the central area of the city.

There are a few major landmarks inside the Cismigiu Gardens.

The Writers' Rotunda is filled with the busts of twelve of Romania's most preeminent writers.

The writers who are limned there are Vasile Alecsandri, Nicolae Balcescu, Mihai Eminescu, Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu, Alexandru Odobescu, Duiliu Zamfirescu, Titu Maiorescu, Alexandru Vlahuta, Ion Creanga, Stefan Octavian Iosif, George Cosbuc, and Ion Luca Caragiale.

The other two main landmarks are the Monument of French Heroes and the Monument of American Heroes.

The former was erected in honor of French troops who perished during the Romanian Campaign of World War I, while the latter honors the American troops who were killed during World War II in Romania.

Additionally, there is a sculpture of Romanian journalist George Panu, who was an author and activist for women's rights, and another of Maica Smara.

The Cismigiu Gardens were built in 1847 on the site of a pool that had been popular among fishermen since at least the 1600s.

Colonies of mallard ducks lived there.

Another part of the park sits where a vineyard once stood.

Horticulturist Wilhelm Friedrich Carl Meyer spent decades working on the gardens, planting new types of flowers and making the landscape more romantic.

He also added an artesian basin by installing layers of porous and impermeable rock to hold water and built a small stage for orchestras to perform on.
