Callejón de Huaylas y Huaraz

El Callejón de Huaylas, uno de los más bellos lugares que tiene el Perú, es la sección central del valle andino de la Cordillera de los Andes formado por el río Santa y está rodeado por la Cordillera Negra al oeste y la Cordillera Blanca al este.

La Cordillera Blanca es la cadena montañosa tropical más elevada del planeta con cimas superiores a los 6000 metros de altitud. En esta cordillera se encuentra el pico más alto del Perú, el Huascarán con 6,746 metros de altura. Al este de la Cordillera Blanca se encuentra el centro arqueológico Chavín de Huántar y hermosos paisajes andinos.

El Callejón de Huaylas fue la cuna de grandiosas culturas milenarias, destacando la cultura Chavín. El complejo arqueológico de Chavín de Huántar es un extraordinario yacimiento arqueológico de la cultura Chavín (1000 al 300 a.C), la cual representa la síntesis de la cultura andina. Está ubicado a 3,185 msnm y fue construido enteramente en piedra, con pasadizos subterráneos y una serie de estructuras piramidales. Chavín de Huántar es Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad declarado por la UNESCO.

La ciudad de Huaraz ubicada en el corazón del Callejón de Huaylas es el punto de partida principal de las tantas expediciones que se aventuran a recorrer los incontables atractivos del Parque Nacional Huascarán el cual fue declarado Patrimonio Natural de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.

En el Callejón de Huaylas se puede practicar diversos deportes de aventura como escalar montañas, esquí sobre nieve, ciclismo de montaña, canotaje y muchos más retos ideal para todo amante de la adrenalina.
