It is common in the training community that believes in reward only to deal with leash reactivity to try to redirect a leash reactive dog with food.

Keep in mind we use food, clickers and positive reinforcement training as one of the methods of training a dog. But when you introduce a reward, such as food, verbal and physical praise or a toy to dog that is behaving badly and you are trying to stop the unwanted behaviors using a reward, you are actually reinforcing the behavior.
