In verses 49-56 of Psalm 119, we see the comfort of God's Word in the midst of suffering. The Word of God guides us, directs us, and comforts us according to the promises and the hope found in God Himself. May we be encouraged through this section of God's Word!

Over the course of 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 verses 8-10 we see the powerful testimony of faith in Christ. The Lord brings about such a change in lost sinners that they turn from their idolatry and sin to Himself. Then He brings glory to His name both in their salvation and their living as servants to His eternal praise!

Over the course of verses 41-48 of Psalm 119, we see the trust, hope, and courage the psalmist has because of the Word of God. He had received the steadfast love of God which had changed him to rejoice in the Word of God. May we too be anchored in the Scripture delighting and rejoicing in it!

In this section of Psalm 119, we see the power of God to turn us from our selfish desires and worthless things to live our lives for the glory of His name. Through His Spirit, He teaches us by the power of His Word that we might live for His praise. May this exposition of the Word be a blessing to you!

In this sermon, we begin a new series through the book of 1 Thessalonians. Paul is thankful for the work of Christ in the believers in Thessalonica as he remembers them. Over verses 1-3 of chapter 1 we learn much about discipling young believers, the work of the Lord in His church, and the steadfast hope we have in Christ. How do believers look to God and find strength from His Word during seasons of adversity? In Psalm 119, we see the sufficient power of Scripture to give guidance and transformation to us, equipping us to live for the glory of God. May we be encouraged by this reminder of the power of God's Word in the lives of God's people!

In this sermon, we finish the book of Colossians by seeing a list of brothers and sisters for whom Paul was very thankful. We learn that the early church was focused not on one person doing all the work of ministry, but serving the Lord Jesus together for the glory of His name. May we have a heart to serve together and rejoice in what the Lord is doing through the work of other faithful believers as well!

In this section of Psalm 119, we see the enduring comfort and guidance of God's Word for difficult seasons. The psalmist has those in positions of authority who are coming against him. Yet, he fills his mind with the Word of God to guide him in how to live for God's glory. May we be encouraged to pursue the Word as we study this passage!

How do we as believers live wisely? What marks the speech of a Christian who communicates with others in a way that is filled with wisdom and points them to the truth? In this sermon, we see the wisdom is a person, the Lord Jesus Christ. And, He is at work in the hearts and souls of His church according to His Word to build us up to live with faithfulness for the glory of His name. We need heart change by the work of Jesus to live with wisdom!

How can a young man keep his way pure? This is the question posed in Psalm 119 verse 9. In this section of the psalm, we see the powerful work of the Word of God sufficiently guiding and guarding us to live for the glory of His name. May our hearts be encouraged to pursue God and His Word as we see the power of the Scripture!
