The team wanted to do an expansion featuring Old Gods vs The Titans, but they couldn’t get it fleshed out within 130 cards.

C’Thun and his buffing minions had used a keyword called Ritual/Ritualists

Don’t want to add too many mechanics to the game

Cards that almost got nerfed: Ice Block, Alexstrasza, and Sylvanas Windrunner

Keeper of the Grove was going to be changed to 5 mana, but instead went to 2/2.

Blade Flurry was considered to be changed to a single target ability

Ancient of Lore was a tough nerf, but they want Druid to feel different every year.

Who lurks in the shadow towers? You do! Skulking behind the Towers’ sturdy walls, your minions have stealth their first turn.

LOTI podcast is a continual source of entertainment for me. Every week a quality 1-2 hour long stream of Hearthstone goodness is expelled from somewhere in Texas and brought to me. There is a consistent theme of fun and casual play, focusing on how to maximise the value of fun for new and old players. The hosts frequently immerse themselves in newer players (or ARE newer players), meaning that they are always looking out for them and considering the ways in which changes affect these newer players. The hosts – RealRealEspo, Dad and Squash are very fun and good at articulating their thoughts in an entertaining manner. The show, of course, isn’t perfect. Sometimes things go awry in terms of technical issues or content, but it is plainly obvious that everyone who works on the show cares deeply about its existence and about the content they make. I would highly reccomend Legend of the Inkeeper to any player of Hearthstone. (Also check out Squishie’s stream)

Bud Light will reveal a list of top esports athletes from across North America on May 7 at DreamHack Austin. Lots of disappointment around this card. One the biggest complaints is not enough good Warlock cards to combo with. Really the only two good ones are Siphon Soul and Doom! Quote from Hearthpwn Forums: “Cho’Gall > DOOM!, the ultimate life tap.”

Could work with Nefarian and Rafaam.

Replacement for Haunted Creeper in Zoo decks.

Do I die?” “Hallazeal wording implies yes, I would die (as I would heal after the damage is dealt), but it’s be nice to get confirmation :)”  @bdbrode – “nobody dies until everything finishes.”

At 6 cost, it’s likely that the card will last 1 turn making it 4/8. 6 mana for a 4/8 isn’t that great. But if you can get it to go one more round, a 8/8 for 6 is great.

What about this in a Rogue deck with conceal or Master of Disguise? Or better yet, turn 8, This + Conceal (Give your minions stealth until next turn – 1 mana) + Cold Blood (Give a minion +2 attack Combo: +4 Attack instead – 1 mana) = awesome = start of next turn it’s a 12/8

Another Rogue combo idea = Turn 9, Scaled Nightmare + 2 Cold Bloods + Conceal = 20 damage next turn

Another combo idea – Divine Spirit (Double a minion’s health – 2 mana) + Inner Fire (Change a minions attack to be equal to it’s health – 1 mana) = 2/8 becomes 2/16, becomes 16/16. Start of your turn, it’s suddenly 32/16???

Paladin – Seal of Champions – (Give a minion +3 Attack and Divine Shield – 3 mana)

Watch out for Cabal Shadow Priest as a counter OR Blessing of Kings (Give a minion +4/+4 – 4 mana) makes it 6/12, then next turn 12/12.

Weak to silence and slow to mature (weak to many cheap removals)

Can anyone say viable Magma Rager?  (5/1 minion)

Paladin Zoo decks?  Include with Blood Knight (3 mana, All minions lose Divine Shield. Gain +3/+3 for each shield lost)

Combo with Stand Against Darkness (5mana, Summon 5 1/1 Silver Hand Recruits)

Combo with Twilight Drake (4 mana, 4/1, Gain +1 health for each card in your hand)

Noble Sacrifice (1 mana secret, when an enemy attacks, summon a 2/1 defender as the new target)

Redemption (1 mana secret, when one of your minions dies, return it to life with 1 health)

Violet Teacher (4 mana, 3/ 5, When you cast a spell summon a 1/1 Violet Apprentice)

Onyxia (9 mana, 8/8, Summon 1/1 whelps until your side of the board is full)

Illidan Stormrage (6 mana, 7/5, Whenever you play a card, summon a 2/1 Flame of Azzinoth)

Faceless Shambler (4 mana, 1/1, Taunt, Battlecry: Copy a friendly minion’s Attack and Health). Copy a 8/8 Giant or Dragon? =  8/8 minion, with Taunt and Divine Shield!

You inspired us…

You may remember one of us (NonstopRug – Rob) from last week (you read his iTunes review on the air). Well we wanted to connect about something exciting. My brother and I have been listening to your podcast for a while and an episode or two ago you mentioned the new Super Cell game, Clash Royale. Well we wanted to let you know that we were inspired by your Hearthstone podcast and wanted to do something similar for new players to Clash Royale. We just started our very first podcast two weeks ago and just released our second episode. We gave you guys a shout out during our first episode because, like yourselves, we wanted a central place to “bring the fun” for Clash Royale.

We have some cool things going like an in game clan that people can join to play together and give us feedback, a new Twitter account, and a freshly updated blog. We are new to the podcasting scene so it’s all still a work in progress. The name of our show is “Cast Royale – The Clash Royale Podcast for Casual Players” – “Cast Royale” for short.
