Legendary Creature - Podcast

'Tis the season for reflections. Kyle takes a look at the decks he's been operating this year. He chats through them all with Andy to see why he keeps his longstanding commanders on the roster and what new hotness came to the table. There were also a number of failures and Kyle and Andy get into what the lessons were along the way. ------------------- Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/legendarycreature YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/legendarycreaturepodcast Twitter: @legend_creature ------------------- Intro and outro music this episode comes courtesy of the artist Makeup and Vanity Set. Deck tuning is the Sisyphean rock of every commander player. As you're rolling your rock up the deck editing hill, take a minute to consider some of the cards we discuss in this episode. We're talking about a variety of cards that hit a couple of notes. First are cards that your opponents are keen to remove and that you are happy to see eat removal or stay on the board. Second are cards that are low-key threats, hardly worthy of removal, but valuable enough to get you to your destination. ------------------- Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/legendarycreature YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/legendarycreaturepodcast Twitter: @legend_creature ------------------- Intro and outro music this episode comes courtesy of the artist Makeup and Vanity Set from the 88:88 album. In the last episode, we gave you the other 99 cards our Patreon supporters are enjoying this year. This time Nick and Zak from Commander Theory join us to get real intimate with the cards of Crimson Vow. We're taking a deep dive with Nick and Zak into many cards, so buckle in and prepare for a proverbial brainstorm. Also, big news comes with this episode! We recently were granted permission to use the music of the almighty Makeup and Vanity Set. So, as you might expect, intro and outro tunes this episode come from the beautiful Makeup and Vanity Set. Be sure to throw some support to Commander Theory. They truly do unique commander content, with a knowledge and understanding you won't find anywhere else. Our listeners graciously give you all the thoughts and reviews you could ever want for new legendary creatures, but what about those other cards? Join us as we take a dive into some of the less obvious—and a few obvious—picks that you ought to consider for the other 99 of your decks. ------------------- Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/legendarycreature YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/legendarycreaturepodcast Twitter: @legend_creature ------------------- The intro for this episode is the song 99 by Toto. The outro is 99 Luftballons by Nena. These are used under fair use because we're talking about the number 99 or something.

It's been a while since we've had a guest, so strap in and see how we do as we bring on Lenny Wooley. Lenny is a new writer at EDHREC with his article series Power Sink. But he's also a long-time magic player, a deeply experienced commander brewer, and a generally good guy. Join us as we talk all things ranging from Lenny's magic life, his article series, capoeira, and any digression that tickles Andy and Kyle's fancy. In honor of Golos getting the honor of being banned, we thought we'd point everyone in the opposite direction of popularity. Join us as Andy does a deck blitz episode with nine decks from listeners, all helmed by commanders who register fewer than 500 decks on EDHREC. Let's get our hipster on and find inspiration to bring the truly cool and original to our tables. Everyone has a deviled egg tray, or an apple slicer, or a shoehorn. How did we end up with that crap?! By buying before we vetted the product! Somehow, we also end up building brews that are our proverbial deviled egg trays. Join us as we explore a few criteria that can help keep us all from building brews that will end up collecting dust. Let's focus on building actually useful decks. Strixhaven gave us a lot to work with. And with a couple of releases between us and the wealth of legends that set gave us, with a return to Innistrad around the corner, it's time to take in as much tech from the wizarding school as we can. Join us as Andy drops a veritable deluge of decks from listeners, brewed from Strixhaven and the accompanying Commander 2021. From attacking artifact creatures, to unsung voltrons, to life gain, and of course, spell-slinging, it's all here.
