  • Jonathan Decker and Alan Seawright, creators of Cinema Therapy, discuss the amazing adventure of their YouTube channel

Ah man. Jono and Alan. Such a privilege chatting with these two. I have known Jono (Jonathan) for 2 decades and Alan almost around the same time. We have had so many memories together, making movies, hanging out, rooming at BYU together; it was a total blast. In 2020 Jono and Alan created the popular YouTube channel Cinema Therapy and it skyrocketed in a way they never thought possible. Their incredible wit and insight have turned the channel into a smashing success, while helping hundreds of thousands of people find healing. When mental health issues were at an all time high, Cinema Therapy brought a lot of humor and gladness into people's hearts. With Jono as the clinical therapist and Alan as the avid filmmaker, the two combined forces to create a beautiful empire. It's awesome to see them do their thing and I couldn't be more proud of some of my best friends having success like this. How we go through this podcast with our collective ADHD is completely beyond me, but the stories we shared has been incredible. Hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I enjoyed doing it!

  • Alan Akina, founder of 101 Financial, talks about the foundation of poverty that led to massive success

Growing up in Hawaii, Alan learned very quickly that paradise didn't come cheap. Alan and his family always had a survival mentality. They made ends meet, but just barely. Moving around all the time, finding different jobs; this was the life Alan had known. But growing older, he became fascinated with how money actually worked. Understanding principles of saving and spending less than you make, Alan created a business educating people on the principles of growing your income, without having any proper college education on finance. As he kept practicing and learning, he grew his business to what it is today, stretching his platform across the United States. But despite his incredible success, Alan remains as humble and cool as ever. He defied all odds and created his own path. Seriously check out his work!

  • Cherstyn Stockwell, of Dahlia's Hope, talks about being called to do the hard things

Cherstyn had no idea she would find herself in the non profit sector while working in Washington. She had no idea she would be so involved with helping victims of child sex trafficking find a voice and place in society after facing some of the epic horrors they have had to face. And yet, when that call came to her, she knew she had to start. She had to just go. And miracle after miracle lined up and her organization is bringing so much hope to so many. We talked about the need to share humor during such dark phases of life. Turns out it's an absolute vital part to the healing. Fair warning, this podcast gets pretty heavy with the sensitive topics we are discussing, but wow was it powerful. Hope you enjoy and get incredible information from Cherstyn's work.

  • Tami Hymas, CEO of BeUtoFullness talks about the power of understanding emotions

Tami’s superpower is that she always knew the power of being unique.  Even as a kid, she knew that creating your own path was where you can find authenticity and power.  She created BeUtoFullness to help find their own unique formula for success and joy.  Her creative mind can never stop however, and recognizing the struggles that kids have faced dealing with their own emotions, she created InUpowers to help deal with the epic feelings they have inside themselves.  And it’s so simple and so deep! This animated book is a great resource for teachers to use when helping kids navigate the world of emotions. It’s been such a successful program that sex trafficking survivors have used it as means to thrive after facing such horrific experiences.  Her hope is to turn InUpowers into its own animated series.  It was such a joy to chat with Tami! Enjoy!

  • Ben and Chad Truman, of the Truman Bros talk about the dangers of virality

Ben and Chad Truman are just outstanding human beings. Period. Growing up in Nashville and seeing levels of success their dad has in the country music scene, they knew the importance of staying grounded despite any success they may have. We talked about the dangers of virality as artists and what placing our values could do there. We also talked about how our weaknesses can be used to benefit our art. Chad shared how he was a bit tone deaf and his ability to sing really came from his ability to turn notes into mathematical equations. Pretty amazing stuff! I really enjoyed getting to know both of them on this incredible level. Hope you enjoy the podcast!

  • Casey Elliott from Gentri, Talks About the Good, Better, and Best Dilemma

Casey Elliott is one of those people that makes the world that much better of a place, simply by existing. He exudes coolness and kindness. I was shocked that our paths hadn't crossed before due to us roaming around similar circles. I was then even more shocked when I realized his dad is a good friend of mine! We laughed as we chatted about the many random and amazing coincidences that we both shared. Casey talked about the formation of their Gentleman Trio or Gentri, and the path of success that followed. We discussed how art can take a life of its own well after creation and how we need to be careful of the type of art we gift the world. Great times talking with this great man. Hope you enjoy the podcast!

His book, The Entrepreneur's paradox talks about the 16 different pitfalls you face as an entrepreneur.
