Under Les Wexner’s leadership of L Brands (the parent company of Victoria’s Secret), multiple reports and lawsuits allege that the company fostered a “hostile abusive environment” in which women — models, brand ambassadors, employees — were routinely subjected to verbal harassment, unwanted touching, inappropriate sexual comments, bullying and retaliation for speaking out. Senior executives (notably Ed Razek) have been accused of mocking models’ bodies, saying things like “Forget the panties … let’s talk about perfect titties,” and pressuring talent into nude or semi-nude photo shoots without adequate compensation or respect.
Moreover, Wexner’s close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — who once served as Wexner’s financial manager — added another layer of extreme risk and misconduct. Epstein allegedly used his role, connections and the guise of “model recruitment” to lure young women (some minors) into risky and abusive situations under Victoria’s Secret-affiliated pretenses. Wexner has been accused of receiving multiple alerts about Epstein’s behavior (including executives telling him Epstein was posing as a casting recruiter) and failing to act.
