Diogo Strausz, renowned for his extraordinary contributions to the world of funk and disco, delivers glorious guitar grooves interlaced with phased rhythmic elements that are sure to get shoulders moving. His impeccable craftsmanship and innovative skills, honed from a young age in Rio de Janeiro, have seen him rise to international acclaim as a producer and multi-instrumentalist . As part of the duo Balako, his music has been released on Razor-N-Tape, Barefoot Beats, and Greco-Roman. His recent work includes the celebrated orchestral piece Pausa, collabs with Brazilian artists like Castello Branco and Alice Caymmi, working with Mario Caldato Jr. of The Beastie Boys, co-producing the album Les Bruits de La Ville for French artist Voyou, and remixing for Brazilian legend Gal Costa.

Nic Hanson, the Philadelphia-born American singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, joins Strausz on this latest track. Hanson’s signature R&B/pop sound, combined with his ability to blend soul, dance, funk, salsa, and hip-hop, brings his own unique flair. Known for his eclectic style and international collaborations with Moon Boots, Moods, and Kraak & Smaak, Hanson’s quality contribution elevates ‘Tropical Electrical’ to new heights making it an unmissable warm weather anthem.

This one in particular showcases their deep exploration of forgotten records, blending percussive and tribal sounds, Spanish rarities, and 80's synths. Sons of Sevilla are blood brothers Henry & Reuben Smith who hail from Featherstone in the North of England. It began in 2020 during lockdown by chance, at the time Reuben was working on solo material for his second album with Soundway Records. When Henry visited Reuben at his home studio to play guitar on his record, they wrote a couple of songs while thinking about by JJ Cale records and a lifetime of the music they had heard growing up in their family pubs.

Henry takes care of business on guitar and bass, while brother Reuben steers the vocals and dazzles with thoughtful key work. Recently relocating to Spain, Henry & Reuben now live between the mountains of Andalucia and their birthplace in England. Having had a close connection to the city of Sevilla since they were kids when their family visited each summer, out of these fond memories Sons of Sevilla was born. Their sound is inspired by early 70s records like JJ Cales Naturally, Nino Ferrers with Radiah Et Le Sud, and Neil Youngs Harvest Moon.

As they step out with their debut long player on the hallowed Southern Californian label, Ubiquity Records, the second LP is already in the making. Having recently signed with Space Agency in the USA, FMLY representing them EU & UK side, Emerged Talent in Germany, Switzerland Austria, Sons of Sevilla will be hitting the open road in 2025 and taking their sounds to the world on tour.

Lullabies For A Wildcat is a collection of tracks recorded at their family home in the summer of 2020. Shades of 70s psychedelia echo throughout, with tripped out layered vocals building a vibration that seems way beyond their years like a hazy hedonistic cloud of smoke in surround sound.

Jaïr Darnoud, also known as Groovegod, was born in 1998 in Amsterdam South-East, known as Bijlmer. This culturally rich neighborhood exposed him to a diverse array of music from an early age. One of his earliest musical memories involves the turntable of his childhood friend, which ignited his passion for music. This early experience led Jaïr to a lifelong journey in exploring and creating music, culminating in his unique invention of Alt-groove, a style characterized by its distinctive rhythm not based on the traditional downbeat.

Jaïr's musical education is a blend of self-taught skills and formal training. Initially learning through "YouTube Academy" and personal experimentation with a dj mixer and some midi controller, he later took courses with DJ Abstract and Evander de Koning. At 22, Jaïr further honed his craft at the Electronic Conservatory of Amsterdam, graduating with honors. His innovative approach to music, particularly through the concept of Negative Syncopation, has set him apart in the electronic music scene, allowing him to create rhythms that challenge conventional structures.

Rooted in his multicultural heritage and influenced by a broad spectrum of global music, Jaïr's work is a testament to his diverse background. Growing up in Amsterdam, he was continuously influenced by the rhythms and stories around him. This, combined with his formal education and unique perspective on rhythm, has led to the development of his distinctive Alt-groove style. Jaïr continues to share his musical journey through performances, his involvement in the electronic rap group RensJairenOmeUncle, and his ongoing exploration of music's many colours and rhythms.

DVRST Collective is back with another deep-rooted debut. This time featuring Guy From 1990, a DJ, producer, and key player inspired by the late 80s / early 90s House sounds, with a solid presence in the Lisbon scene through the mythical ELA (@ela-east) & House Mouse projects.

From the classic house roots of 'Feel It', to the depth and groove of 'Deep in Marvila', and the instant-acid connection of two days in the studio with Larry Quest (@larryquest) on 'Been Appart'. This piece lightens an effusive feeling of a friendly dancefloor, often met in the east side of Lisbon, Marvila, a special place with lots of good memories for Guy From 1990.

Stop what you're doing and give us your full attention because Hell Yeah mainstay My Friend Dario's new album Senza Estate is going to define the sound of summer 2024. It's an eclectic eight-track collection that has something for everyone and is inspired by dreamy Italian soundtrack composers Piero Piccioni and Umiliani. The curveball Italian talent is a dance floor don who collides acid, nu-disco, breakbeat and electro. His take on Balearic is unique sending dance floors wild, as proven with his Food For Woofers Vol 2 earlier in the year. His new album is the sound of life by the Mediterranean, Balearic audio pleasure for daytime dreaming and nighttime dancing with vocal tracks written and performed by the UK's Space Echo Records associate Darene Obika.

My Friend Dario hails from Catania on the island of Sicily and his inspiration for Senza Estate, which translates to 'without summer,' was an imaginary holiday, weekends at the seaside, car journeys in the sun, relaxing sunsets and late-night dancing. "For five years, I worked in a shop six days a week so despite living on a Mediterranean island I could never enjoy these things. Instead, I locked myself in the studio and jotted down the ideas, sensations, melodies and rhythms I had about another lost summer."

'Keep On Cruising' is a downtempo opener with synths that are filled with hope and promise for warm months ahead. 'Zingarella' is a wide-open sea view with wispy pads, seductive flutes and jazzy melodies that bristle with life. The tropical title cut gets more dancey on shuffling broken beats and radiant synths. There's a seductive laid-back cool to the tumbling keys of 'Marittimo' and 'What You Need' is a horizontal groove with loved-up vocals. 'Falò' pairs sensual acoustic guitar with pillowy drums, while 'Il Pianeta Proibito' layers sci-fi synths and stuttering bass into a sound that leads to a cosmic take-off. 'Acid Panorama' is the melancholic closer hinting that the summer sun is setting after weeks of carefree fun.

There’s a nu name on the map. interloot strives to equip the delicate nightlife companion and savvy dancefloor connoisseur with heavy artillery. for their long-awaited debut they team up with the slick bavarian based decent rides who supply a versatile house infiltrated dance voyage. starting of with the title track »always a choice« the duo delivers an atmospheric synth heavy opening tune, that forcefully accelerates into a driving floorfilla. the following »stuff in space« gently makes its way through the groove with a moody percussive loop soon to be succeeded by a weighty electric baseline for proper pressure. after flipping sides »under the carpet« builds up on a stomping tribal infused percussion rhythm, steadily unfolding it’s raw and sweeping energy. the grand final is completed by well known berlin based producer johannes albert, contributing an uplifting take on »always a choice«. so now, choice is yours. cheers.
