I get to work with people every day and often what goes right on to the coaching plan is confidence... (you fill in the blank). So often we tell ourselves that confidence is one of those inherent qualities and one you may never attain. Either you have it or you don’t. We see people who seem to just exude it. You know who I’m talking about. They walk into a room and just command it. You can’t miss their presence.
Have you wanted to be that person? Have you wished that you had the confidence to be the “life of the party” or, if not that, at least not shy away from the party altogether. Whatever “the party is” for you.
People are attracted to confidence. I’ve always wanted to inspire that. And here’s what I’ve learned over the years; we can choose to be confident. Today we are going to dig in and explore choosing confidence as a practice. So buckle up entrepreneurs, leaders, business managers and self-improvement seekers. I am confident you will relate at some level.
Here are the highlights from this episode:
{4:36} Being confident is a choice {11:33} The importance of trusting yourself and getting out your comfort zone {15:17} One person and one situation at a time {22:09} Know your passion, know your purpose values and create an impact

What two things are required to take a leap of faith? Focus and tenacity. Think of focus as the car engine and tenacity as the caboose on the “E” train. What’s the E train? It’s Energy, Effort and Engage, and represents every car from the engine to the caboose.
The engine is focused and sees a track and keeps heading forward, while the caboose has the tenacity to keep going no matter what and sticks with it no matter what. It’s job is to remind the rest of the cars that “WE CAN DO THIS” over and over and over again. Tenacity pushes the other cars called Energy, Effort and Engage, every single day until the destination is reached.
Today’s guest, Dr. Kristin I. Meyer, exudes tenacity and you will be inspired throughout her story. She comes from a family that believes in taking leaps of faith and leans into tenacity consistently. We will hear how tenacity has served her tremendously through all of her leaps of faith.
Her sage advice will leave entrepreneurs, leaders and self-improvement seekers inspired and empowered to continue to lead from passion and purpose and to stick with it!

In today’s episode I thought it would be great to dive deeper into the 2nd pillar, ”Be Courageous”, through looking at our comfort zone and the value in challenging ourselves to get out of it and getting comfortable being uncomfortable. Especially today and the times we are going through. I feel like we are being called to stand, and stand in our courage to be specific, while answering the call for change.
What will this require? Stretching way beyond our comfort zone. Today I will be vulnerable and tell a story that taught me so many lessons on what it means to be courageous, to lean in, to stretch beyond my comfort zone and take the lead. My wish is that you find the humor that I found and that this episode will inspire you to be courageous and keep stretching. Enjoy and let’s stretch!!

I have often been told, “your boys must have loved growing up with you as a Coach”. My response is, “you might want to ask them that question”, with an immediate giggle that followed.
Today I thought it would be fun to invite them to tell their story on what it was like to be a kid and teenager growing up with a Mom as leadership coach, being fully immersed in leadership principles every single day.
You might say we all grew up as leadership coaches together, because let me tell you, they don’t hesitate to hold me accountable, call me on my “stuff”, and hold me to my word, and being the best version of me, even when I don’t feel like it! I’ve said it before and I will say it again, they are my greatest teachers and coaches, and I am so incredibly blessed and grateful to be their Mom.
They are amazing young men, and I know you will love hearing their perspective.

How many of you say to yourself “I don’t’ like change” I hear that a lot in my profession, however I will tell you change is one of the very things you can be certainly certain is going to happen.
We resist change, because it’s uncomfortable or perhaps we make up not safe. In today’s episode we are going to explore the Stages of Change, and how we can use this model to embrace change because like it or not, change is always happening, so let’s make the best of it.
You have a choice to lean into change or not, and wouldn’t it be more fun to move through it in a way that you embrace it, learn from it, from a neutral place, and not let it get the best of you. Life is a roller coaster, there is uncertainty, our brain doesn’t love uncertainty, and will work hard to make sense of it.
Let go of resistance, lean in to curiosity, remember life happens for us and not to us, and we can create an experience of change that may just be very different than what we expected. Curious? Let’s go embrace change in today’s episode.
Here are the highlights from this episode:
{1:11} The stages of change model
{5:41} The 5 stages
{8:02} Why we resist change
{12:22} The challenge to embrace change

You have heard me say before that leaders don’t wait, they create. We have the opportunity every single day to get out in the world and create whatever we want in our lives both personally and professionally.
You first have to believe you can, that is the first step and then second you must ask yourself, will I? Will I really?
As a little girl my Dad was one of my heroes, he was 100% self-made, and he lived every day to the fullest, he taught me, you can, the question is will you. He instilled in me and my brothers that “age is just a number”, and you are only as old as you decide to feel”, and I have believed that every day since then.
Today we get to hear from someone who for me is 100% the very example of what my Dad told me, she amazes me in what she has created in her life and continues to each and every day. Not only her story, also what she does to make a difference in people’s lives will illuminate that leaders don’t wait, they create, and age is never a barrier.
I am so excited for you to meet Joan Virginia Allen, who is an author, a personal trainer, a coach, and so much more. You will walk away wanting to climb and swing from trees, and we encourage it, have some fun!

How many perfectionists or recovering perfectionists do I have out there? I am raising my hand as a constant recovering perfectionist!
I love this quote by Joyce Meyer “Strive for excellence, not perfection, because we don’t live in a perfect world” isn’t that the truth. And, I can’t say this enough life is much more fulfilling when we strive for excellence, because we are continuing to learn, grow, create opportunities to make mistakes, take them, and not take ourselves quite so seriously.
Today we are going to lean in to our excellence, let go of perfection, and see what shifts in our personal and professional lives! Entrepreneurs, leaders, professionals, and self-improvement seekers get ready for more freedom and joy as you take the lead in your lives, because it’s all about excellence today!
