What if I told you that the entire hippie counter culture music scene of the 1960s and 1970s was actually a CIA operation to discredit the Vietnam anti war effort? This conspiracy theory alleges that U.S. intelligence purposefully divided the working class from the left through a multi pronged attack consisting of drugs, sex, and rock n’ roll. On today’s episode, Nat guides Aly through an alternate version of U.S. history that highlights just how successful this alleged psyop turned out to be. Buckle up! It’s another Nat conspiracy rabbit hole!

“I'm Uncle Sam, that's who I am; Been hidin' out in a rock and roll band.”- U.S. Blues, The Grateful Dead.

Welcome to Episode 193: Los Pelacaras (Face-Peelers) of Peru! In August of 2023, both Spanish and English media began reporting on a sensational phenomenon occurring in the Peruvian jungles that has continued still today. Villagers of the Loreto region of Northeast Peru claim that 7 foot tall aliens have been terrorizing them for years, with attacks by these beings ramping up in the spring and summer of 2023. While English-speaking media didn’t pick up this story until last year, there are examples of Spanish speaking media reporting on them dating back to 2022 and folklore and urban legends surrounding the phenomenon date back generations. Experiencers have dubbed the violent beings “Los Pelacaras” which translates to “The Face Peelers”, but they have gone by many names over the years depending on which Amazonian tribe or jungle-bordering community has met with them. Some of these other names the Face Peelers have been called include: pishtaco, karasiri, nakaj, cortacabezas, sacaojos, and sacamantecas. So, what’s behind the Face-Peeler Phenomenon? Organized crime syndicates, the drug trade and cartels, a PsyOp, serial killers, mass hysteria, cryptids, aliens, or something else? Join us on this week’s episode as we seek to unravel the mystery of the Face Peelers of Peru!

Originating from the lost Golconda diamond mines of India, French merchant Jean Baptiste Tavernier acquired the 115 carat blue diamond under dubious circumstances to say the least. After the diamond was sold to King Louis the 14th, the diamond changed hands dozens of times over the next 350 years, with people who owned it - and even people who just touched it - suffering gruesome deaths, disfigurement, and bad luck. SKIP TO 2:30 TO GET TO THIS WEEK’S STORY!

In this rare finance themed episode of LGH we will explore the conspiracies surrounding the American company known as BlackRock. Is BlackRock controlling every aspect of our lives from the costs of food and price of gas, to the availability of single family homes? BlackRock said no, but the internet is not so sure. Listen as Nat presents Aly with the web's most extreme (and unproven) theories on what to expect from the world’s largest asset manager.

Welcome to Episode 187: Kutchie’s Key Lime Pie, A Quirky Internet Mystery! Around 2009, a flurry of bizarre, copy pasta-esque comments began appearing across the internet in droves. These strange comments referenced a now-defunct restaurant named Kutchie’s Café which allegedly sold the best key lime pie in the world, a pie capable of giving people “piegasms”, baked by “Captain Kutchie” himself. For the next 8 years, this unknown person posted over 700 comments from over 30 different usernames before one day just disappearing…leaving the public with no explanation for their odd behavior. This user would later become known as the “Key Lime Pie” poster, or simply “KLP”, and the mystery he or she left behind would be cemented in the Internet Mystery hall of fame as the internet rabbit hole known as “Kutchie’s Key Lime Pie”. So, who was the KLP Poster? Was he posting in code for military spies? Was he a disgruntled ex-employee, Captain Kutchie himself, an SEO botscript gone rogue, a troll, or something else entirely? Join Aly and Nat with special guests Tyler and Charlie of Believing the Bizarre as they attempt to unravel a zany mystery that is sure to turn your brain to mush.
