According to a survey commissioned by accountancy software company, Xero, many entrepreneurs are struggling with the psychological impact of navigating their businesses through the pandemic. Indeed, the emotional fallout is proving harder to deal with than the rather more prosaic but necessary task of getting their companies back on a sound financial footing. The question is, how can they best help themselves? Conducted by polling organization Opinium and the Centre for Economic and Business Research, 92 percent of small business owners have experienced mental health problems over the past two years. Perhaps more worryingly, 40 say that dealing with their psychological problems is likely to take longer than financial recovery.
Moe Abbassi grew up experiencing verbal, emotional and physical abuse, which led to feelings of inadequacy, being socially inept and having dating troubles. This resulted in him going through a long journey learning social and dating skills and starting a coaching business that he was able to scale to multi six-figures and traveling to over 20 countries teaching seminars and bootcamps. While on the surface level everything was great, Moe was suffering from anxiety, depression and purposelessness and panic attacks that left him hospitalized. Additionally, his relationship with his partner and friends were falling apart.

Do You Wonder What Healthy Relationships Look Like? If we don't see them that often, that may be because they are pretty rare. According to Psychology Today researchers estimate that only 10% of marriages in the US are highly healthy and happy. Meanwhile, the Toronto Star reports When some men are upset and in a dispute with another, they believe that they’re doing the other a favour by suppressing, being inauthentic, and pretending that they’re fine. When others don’t suppress, but rather share their emotions with them, some men become angry, frustrated, or dismissive.
At the root of the toxic masculinity norms that pervade society, these are the only emotions that men are permitted to display. Health science data shows that expressing one’s emotions is healthy. However, 80 per cent of males suppress their emotions. Only 23 per cent reported crying when feeling helpless whereas 58 per cent of women cried under similar circumstances. Women are five times more likely to cry and for longer. They also live at least five years longer than males. Gabriel Keczan is the Author of Alive On Purpose, Therapist, and Men's Relationship Coach. He helps men with their married game to rekindle desire, overcome relationship problems & avoid costly divorce. "What brings me alive is growth, human potential, beauty, and awakening genius." He is also the co-founder of the non-profit Sacred Pathways Foundation with a mission of restoring rites of passage services for boys using arts, nature & ceremony, and reviving warrior initiations for men. "I am the son of a Hungarian-Canadian chicken farmer & was raised with four sisters on the family farm in Beamsville, Ontario. I have called the West Kootenay mountains home for 20 years and feel deeply connected with the mossy forests and pristine waters of the Columbia Basin." He joined me this week to tell me more.

The Wall Street Journal found that the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicted journalism jobs would decline by 4.8% by 2030, after already shrinking from nearly 66,000 news analysts, reporters and journalists in 2000 to 52,000 in 2019. Nate Barrett is a former award-winning news anchor & corporate communications manager. He started Dashti Media with his wife, Kezhal, after seeing a need in the business world for the TV process & talent.
Nate has more than a decade of broadcasting experience as a news anchor and reporter in local news markets across Washington, Wisconsin, and Texas. His passion for journalism started at a young age and he won his first broadcast award while he was still in college.
After leaving TV news, Nate went to corporate communications, working with some of the biggest companies in the United States. That experience opened his eyes to the world of business and made him want to pursue entrepreneurship.
When he's not recording videos or coming up with new ideas for the business, he enjoys sports and spending time with his two dogs.
Nate is a graduate of Walla Walla University, a small school in Southeast Washington. He was the first from his school to become a TV news anchor after graduating. He also studied abroad for a year in Spain and backpacked across Europe during winter break.
A transplant to Texas, Nate grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest mountains of Oregon and enjoys hiking in the woods. He credits much of his success to his mother who encouraged him to participate in many activities growing up - from improv and juggling to piano and tennis lessons.
Nate is a big believer in self-improvement and his guilty pleasure is cheesy motivational quotes, which he says can still be inspiring. He joined me this week to tell me more.

According to the 2010 census, there were more than 11 million widows compared to three million widowers in the United States. About 700,000 women become widowed each year. Over 10 years, that makes 7 million widows (plus those who lose partners to whom they were not legally married). For Kelley Raleigh she’s “newly widowed single mom, teaching people how to gracefully move through grief & trauma. Changing how we talk about and heal from trauma.” “I am an intuition coach, certified brain trainer & retreat facilitator. I have 20 years of experience in the heart centered educational world as a coach and facilitator. I have created leadership curriculum, international volunteer programs and supported hundreds of families with creating harmony in their homes. I am taking everything I have learned and created over the last 2 decades with my recent unexpected tragedy and am on a mission to change how we talk about trauma and grief so that people can begin to authentically heal in the most sustainable way possible.
Our bodies and brains know how to heal, but we have clogged both with stress, limiting beliefs and thinking experts and society knows our bodies better than we do. All of that has caused many people so much pain and disease and sickness and it doesn’t have to be that way. I am here to disrupt how we look at all of this. I bring solutions and a graceful and supportive way to move through all those blocks and stress and get you back into your bodies so you can thrive. I am choosing to thrive every day regardless of my circumstances and you can too. I will show you how.” She joined me this week to tell me more.
