  • Jake Thomas: "Unlock your Higher Self Through My Whole Health Approach"

My friends I want to take a moment and pose to you a relevant and resourceful question about resilience. Are you one of those people who believes you have the fortitude and wherewithal to push through adversity and overcome the obstacles which stand in the way of progress? Could you use some motivational encouragement to accomplish such a goal? If so, today your in the right place because I had a conversation with Jake Thomas. He is a Marine | 5x Natural Physique Champion who says:

“I was a drug addict. I was an alcoholic. I was a super-consumer of anything, everything and everyone that would take me away from the present and put me elsewhere. Nothing had taste. My insatiable thirst for substance or company could not be quenched. Like a vampire to the sunlight, I was deathly afraid of the present moment. I hated who I was, what I had become and where I appeared to be going. I contemplated running away and even tried taking the coward’s way out with a few close-call overdoses. But even then, I failed because I was too scared to really go through with it. I was weak at the core. Or maybe…just maybe…it’s because I wasn’t ready to die yet…I wasn’t ready to give up…I wasn’t ready to quit.

As I worked on myself, I avoided focusing on the result and instead focused on the steps, the process. I found that by living consistently in a manner that I admire I began personifying my beliefs. And that’s exactly what I do through exercise, nutrition, reading, writing, meditation and self-improvement. I had to create the man that I never had in my own and then fully become him as my own hero.

I am now alive, happy, healthy, grateful and living with purpose.” He joined me this week to tell me more.

  • Outsourcing Sales Calls to Gain your Freedom Back with: LJ Sarkodee

According to the newly released report, more than half (59%) of American workers are experiencing at least moderate levels of burnout, a notable increase over 2021 (52%) and on par with the levels reported in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the 2022-2023 Aflac WorkForces Report. For LJ  Sarkodee. I’m a former corporate sales executive and sales recruiter turned freelance and now founder of Sales Closers, a remote sales closing agency.

Together, my team has sold in excess of $30million and have been the virtual sales team behind multiple 6+ figure campaigns.

Our model is unique - we partner with exceptional entrepreneurs and run all of their sales calls FOR them.

My team and I find world-class closers and we train them on how to be even better, whilst working remotely with clients around the globe.

I’ve worked with many companies - both large and small - and helped them grow by running their sales operation.

Earlier in my career, I remember waking up and drinking my coffee while a new sales closer … my very FIRST hire … was taking the sales calls I used to do for hours everyday.

I remembered the pain of spending hours each day on the phone because I was terrified of letting my calls go…what if I outsourced my sales calls and the sales agent didn’t know my ideal client or couldn’t answer their questions?

    My sales revenue would tank!

But I was so exhausted, it was hard not to just flop on the sofa and go to sleep after a long day of sales.

When you have a family though, you can’t just do that.

When I spent time with my family, all I could think about was going to sleep because I had to rest to do it all again the next day.

It made it hard to really enjoy my time with them … there was so much quality time that they deserved and didn’t get.

And I feel so much shame admitting this as a mom, but I began to resent how much of my time my family needed. became an endless cycle of “work, work, work” during the day … and in the evening, all I could think about is how I need to prepare for more work the next day.

Now, don’t get me wrong - I LOVE sales calls, and I’m skilled at turning calls into closes … but when you do sales calls every day, you get exhausted. She joined me this week to tell me more.

  • Sally Norton: “My Favorite Health Foods Were Actually Making Me Sick!”

Most people get between 200 and 300 milligrams of oxalates daily. If you're at risk for kidney stones, sources suggest getting less than 100 milligrams a day. Doctors may also recommend “low-oxalate diets” of less than 50 milligrams daily for some people, WebMD reports.

“My favorite health foods were actually making me sick!” -ONE WOMAN’S BATTLE (& RECOVERY)

    FROM OXALATE OVERLOAD-

Sally K. Norton should have been the picture of health. She exercised regularly; did yoga; and ate a well-researched diet chock full of wholesome, nutritious foods. She even had an ivy league degree in nutrition.

…But her health was far from fabulous. She suffered from several physical and cognitive impairments including chronic fatigue, joint pain, and a severe sleep disorder. Doctors couldn't figure out why someone so young and “healthy” could be so unwell.

Sally never imagined that her health problems could be related to her beloved health foods. After her career in health research and medical education ended due to her worsening condition, Sally finally connected the dots and recovered her health by lowering her oxalate intake.

“My favorite health foods (sweet potatoes and swiss chard) were making me sick all along! I had oxalate overload,” says Norton. “Many superfoods are high in oxalic acid, an organic compound which has been linked to numerous mental and physical health problems.”

Sally’s story is not unique. “Oxalate Overload” is a condition whose prevalence has skyrocketed in the era of green smoothies, chia bowls, and nut-based plant beverages.

Sally K. Norton, MPH holds a nutrition degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Public Health. Her path to becoming a leading expert on dietary oxalate includes a prior career working at major medical schools in medical education and public health research. Her personal healing experience inspired years of research that led to her forthcoming book, Toxic Superfoods, which releases on Dec. 27 and is available for pre-order everywhere books are sold.    She joined me this week to tell me more.
