National Mentoring Day reported 67% of businesses reported an increase in productivity due to mentoring. 55% of businesses felt that mentoring had a positive impact on their PROFITS. Employees who received mentoring were promoted five times more often than those who didn't have mentors. The Inclusive Early Childhood Service System (IECSS) is a research project that is working to understand programs for children with disabilities. The project uses interviews with families to better understand processes and procedures to access activities and accessibility in the daily lives of disabled children. This can lead to recommendations for educators and governments to make changes that are based on the experience of children and families.

How many children must die before the U.S. Senate takes any meaningful and sustainable action to address the gun violence epidemic which is uniquely American? Are we really going to draw the conclusion children losing their lives is the cost of freedom in America? According to the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence 38,000 – 44,000 people die in America every year because of gun violence. Furthermore, The United States accounts for just 4% of the world’s population but 35% of global firearm suicides and 9% of global firearm homicides. There have also been more than 212 mass shootings in America thus far this year and were not even 200 days into the year. What is the key to curving the troubling trend of gun violence in America? One woman who brings unique perspective to this issue is Robyn Thomas the Executive Director at Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. She joined me this week to answer the question why is gun violence a uniquely American problem? And how can we reverse this disturbing trend?

A survey of 2,000 people looked at the ways in which people stay positive throughout the day and found a resounding 88 percent consider themselves positive people overall.

However, 69 percent of those surveyed still wish they could be more positive.

The survey, conducted by OnePoll in conjunction with The Original Donut Shop Coffee, revealed four in five believe positive thinking can help improve their lives and start the morning off on a positive note.

For half of those surveyed (50 percent) the morning can’t start out positively unless they begin it enjoying a morning cup of coffee.

In fact, four in five people agree their daily cup of coffee helps them stay positive and productive throughout the day.

Forty-eight percent also say exercise is key to getting their day started on a positive note.

Two-thirds of people expect 2022 to be the year they become more financially stable, according to a new survey commissioned by the shopping platform Slickdeals. Three-fourths of Americans have made a resolution centered around being smarter with their finances, up from 73 percent who did so last year. Six in 10 said 2021 was easier on their finances — twice the amount of people who claimed 2020 was painless on their finances (31 percent). Only 15 percent reported financial difficulties in 2021, compared to close to half in 2020.
