In this episode of the Let's Heal Already Podcast, J.R. discusses The Best Way to Use the Feeling Wheel by Dr. Gloria Wilcox.
J.R.'s approach comes from the Integrated Attachment Theory by Thais Gibson:
Step 1: Give your emotions presence with no distractions.
Step 2: Notice the sensations that arise in your body and put a name to them using the wheel.
Step 3: Look for ways you have displayed the opposite of your fear or painful emotion in order to bring yourself back into balance, and question any stories that may not be true.
Step 4: Give yourself what you need in order to feel supported first, then ask trusted friends, family, and your partner(s) for it as well.
