In this episode, I talk about understanding that Addiction is an illness and how we should offer grace to those trying to get clean. I urge addicts to go to NA and AA when or if they are ready to start their recovery and healing journey. I close with a story about my child's father, who, unfortunately, was overtaken by the beast that is drug addiction. I talk about his sacrifice to walk away from being a dad to try to battle his disease. I talked about letting her know that her dad loved her and was sick. My children and I have gone down many roads and have faced many trials, but we have always come out of the storm stronger and better than when we went in. I close with the title of the next 6-part series of season 1, titled Tales of a Teen mom.

In this episode, we cover a lot. We talk about my oldest child's father being on cocaine and how very, very violent he was. We talk about a time when he snatched my daughter and ran with her because I refused to give him back the money that he had given me. We discuss how I was in a tornado, going from one house to another, where there was turmoil, dysfunction from alcohol and drugs. I was trapped and didn't see a way out. I didn't want to tell my grandparents what was going on or how bad it was, so I kept pushing and fighting to survive for myself, my sisters, and now my baby.

In this episode, I pick up about the story of me just fresh out of the hospital from giving birth to my first child, that I am out in the middle of the street fighting a local dealer because he was beating up my brother, who had used the drugs he was supposed to sell. Why people thought it was a good idea to give a drug addict drugs to sell is beyond me. I talk about another time when a guy came to collect a debt that was owed, but my mom was able to calm him down and asked him not to kill my brother. I ask anybody who is listening to the podcast that maybe struggling with addiction to get treatment. They deserve to be healthy and to have a good life and it is possible.

In this episode, I speak more about how I navigated growing up with my mom and really only parent addicted to crack cocaine in the 80's that would continue for more than 4 decades. I speak about a time when my aunts were discussing possible involvement of child services because my mom had been missing for days, so to keep that from happening, I walked the streets of Brooklyn looking for her, going to known drug spots and areas that other drug addictes frequnted in hopes of finding her and bringing her home so that we wouldn't go into foster care. As I have stated, although this is theraputic it is also heartbreaking and inspiring because we made it to the other side, and I believe if you are listening and are dealing with addiction, you and your family can make it to better times. I will be honest, it will be painful and will take hard work, but it is possible.

In this episode, I discuss why I named this series There's a crack in this house. I speak about talking to my mom about her drug addiction and how, although it's healing, it is very emotional. I ask for Grace to be given to my mom and me during this series. None of us is perfect. I forgave my mom a long time ago, and she has forgiven herself and apologized to me for everything we went through. Drug addiction is a disease, and it takes time and a willingness to want to be clean and drug-free. I send prayers to anyone who is dealing with drug addiction in their lives and in their families,

Here in this season 1 series 2 episode 7, we will be diving into how my family and I navigated the Crack epidemic. We went from having it all to losing it all. It was as if an explosion had blown up our lives. I recount the first time I saw a table full of what I later learned was cocaine, to home invasions, thefts, and guns being pulled on us as kids. I go into how often we moved around, and at times, not knowing where our mother was during binges. I survived the crack epidemic and have the scars and stories, aka the receipts, to show I made it despite it all.

Hello Everyone (my Linc's)

I wanted to give a little info on why I decided to create this podcast and the LINC organization. I did so primarily to reach other people who have survived different traumas and may not feel comfortable ot safe speaking about and who may also feel stuck in their pain or trauma. I wanted to be a voice and an ear to let them know that they are heard, and I will tell my story so they know that they are not alone and that it is possible to overcome our pain, traumas, and obstacles. We are more than what happened to us or what we have been through. I am living proof that there is a good life once we are healing and during the healing process. Let's Linc with Felicia Nicole is therapeutic and brings me great joy knowing that my story could help someone, even if it is just one person. Thank you for being a part of this journey. I promise it won't be all bad. I share my goods as well.

This is the final episode of this series."How do we keep our children safe from Predators within our own families?" I close this series by saying that we must create a safe space for our children to feel comfortable and safe to talk to us about anything and everything. They have to believe that they will be believed and protected. We must also understand and accept that predators do exist within families and that it could be anyone. Although it is sometimes hard to believe that kids can be predators too. In this episode, I talk about one of my older brother's bestfriends that lived with my family for a short time. One night, during a family gathering, he came into my bedroom and tried to remove my nightclothes. Thankfully, I was able to fight him off and get my mother, but what if she wasn't home or if I wasn't strong enough to get him off of me?

These are a couple of the questions I want some feedback on

Why are the victims os sexaual assualt, moletation or rape not believed?

Why are the Predators protected and given free rein to prey on the children in the family?

We have to give our children a safe space to talk to us and to feel like they will be believed. Trust our intuition, when our children behaviors change, and they may not want to be around a certain family member.

Let's protect our children.
