Let's Talk Native with John Kane

Peter d’Errico joins John Kane and Shawnee Rice to discuss two recent Supreme Court rulings on cases involving Native peoples where Trump appointee Neil Gorsuch ruled with the liberal side of the bench. Peter is a practicing lawyer and retired law professor from UMass at Amherst. We will discuss the rulings and tackle the right-left issues of the court reminding everyone that even those who are regarded as champions of human rights have shown extreme bias and racism in many cases involving Native peoples.

The Lockport Journal joined The Buffalo News in calling down the Seneca Nation. These guys even blamed the Senecas for Niagara Falls having old fire trucks. They ignore the State taking a billion dollars out of the region and worse want it to continue.

Well the Buffalo news showed it racism with a shot from its editorial board at the Seneca Nation. I'll take a few return shots tonight.

This Summer will enter "Let's Talk Native..." into its 10th year. I'll reflect a bit on the past and project a bit into the future.

Matt Hill joins me in studio on this 127th anniversary of the Wounded Knee Massacre. We do some review of 2017 as well.

Matt Hill joins us tonight as we talk about the expense and influence of white lawyers, lobbyists and consultants as it relates to our diplomacy and political strategy.

On the 6th anniversary of the passing of my son-in-law, LJWP, I reflect on the passing of a good man whose life was cut far too short and remind all of us of our responsibilities and our priorities.

The Washington Redhawks? No, not really but viral parody sites caused quite a stir on Wednesday with this story. Black voters came out strong in Alabama to defeat a racist child molester and push a civil rights champion to victory in the Senate race. But that does NOT mean that Native people should vote in non-Native elections. The City of Buffalo is broke and guess whose faulty it is? The Senecas, of course.

With critical thinking in short supply, creative solutions are stifled. Matt Hill stopped by and we rekindled a conversation on our disconnect to our own history and complicity in modern day assimilation. Cognitive dissonance and indoctrination.

The politics of sexual harassment and the politics in sexual harassment. Killer cop get 20 years! If you say, "Thank God", perhaps you forgot that a man died.
