We are talking about education and pursuit of knowledge. Why do it? Is it just for career, money and status? Or security and personal growth? And how do we educate our own and others?

So who is advising these Code Talkers to make these appearances anyway? A few years ago they were paraded at a Washington Redskins game loaded with jackets, hats and anything else they could print an "Indian Head" on, undermining all of us protesting the racial slur used for this team name. Now they are propped up under an Andrew Jackson portrait and forced to listen to the Racist in Chief use Pocahontas mocked a political rival. Can we stop sucking up to these arrogant white men? I also remember the Sand Creek Massacre on the week of the 153rd anniversary of the crime.

Trump continues to try to use "Pocahontas" as an insult for Elizabeth Warren; AT AN EVENT TO HONOR NATIVE PEOPLE!!! The man is a moron! Yeah; I'm weighing in on this jerk. We'll go further and talk honestly about Native ancestry. I am heading to Niagara Falls tomorrow for a radio show on the Seneca / State conflict. I recap a bit on it as well.

Colin Kaepernick was honored by Native people at the Alcatraz Sunrise Ceremony Thursday morning. Much respect was paid to and by Kap at this gathering but not all Native people are supportive of Kaepernick's protest and a fair amount of condemnation made its way across social media. I give my thoughts and get into a discussion on unity and diplomacy.

Lot's of complaints from Native people about their people, their communities and governments. I hear people say we aren't really sovereign. I say we are as sovereign as we want to be. What are we doing to assert it? What are we doing to decolonize?

The Keystone XL Pipeline has ruptured. 5000 barrels, 200,000 gallons of tar sands oil dumped on the ground in South Dakota. Who saw this coming? Everyone! Also, a friend of mine got a letter from the NYS Thruway Authority on the condition of their highway that crosses Seneca land. You got to hear this one. This is a recording of an opening address that I wrote. It is neither a prayer nor a ceremony but rather my version of a common way to open a meeting or gathering. The main purpose is to bring our minds together around Creation and our relationships to each other and all of Creation. Listen and let the words calm you and reach you. Let my words remind you of your relationships and encourage you to think and speak of them.
