It was bound to happen. The long arm of Facebook finally caught up to me and locked me down for a day. But I'm back with one of my least favorite topics: The Cayuga.

Mark Charles joins us for the show. Charles is running for the US presidency and trying to become the first Navajo president of the US. We tackle the obvious assimilation issue, his use of history and the cognitive dissonance of assimilation.

Racism demonstrated by individuals is easy to react to but that's not creates white privilege; systemic racism does. We'll talk about both. We see it in privilege of the wealthy, elite of the Hamptons in their sense of power to dictate to the Shinnecock, but we see it even more in the power they wield in the political and governing systems. We see condescending dismissive attitudes in courts, legislatures and even with our own paid lawyers. This is systemic racism and it's much more difficult to confront but still needs to be!

A couple days ago it was the 95th anniversary of the passage of the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924. Before it was called "Genocide", it was called "Denationalization." This was the process of stripping away the national or cultural character of a people and imposing the character of another upon them. Declared me a citizen, my ass! I am Onkwehonwe!

Peter d’Errico joins John Kane and Shawnee Rice to discuss two recent Supreme Court rulings on cases involving Native peoples where Trump appointee Neil Gorsuch ruled with the liberal side of the bench. Peter is a practicing lawyer and retired law professor from UMass at Amherst. We will discuss the rulings and tackle the right-left issues of the court reminding everyone that even those who are regarded as champions of human rights have shown extreme bias and racism in many cases involving Native peoples.

The Lockport Journal joined The Buffalo News in calling down the Seneca Nation. These guys even blamed the Senecas for Niagara Falls having old fire trucks. They ignore the State taking a billion dollars out of the region and worse want it to continue.

Well the Buffalo news showed it racism with a shot from its editorial board at the Seneca Nation. I'll take a few return shots tonight.

This Summer will enter "Let's Talk Native..." into its 10th year. I'll reflect a bit on the past and project a bit into the future.
